Found this in Longview Wa.

No markings, 29in split,
Nice birdseye into bocote, points are some what even,
12mm shaft layerd tip, ferrule I dont know.
The pin is extra long 1.15in.

It plays pretty good, shaft is small, good bye for a hondo.

Thanks Rick.

I'd think it would be next to impossible to id who made that unless someone has one from the same maker. Sneaky's have been made by almost everyone who makes cues.

Looks like a nice one for sure.

Thanks.

Going to go see Greg Sowder in a week or 2 could be one of his.

Thanks for the help.

Rick

I think the handle is cocobolo - regardless that's a premium blank for sure.

Here are some more pics.

Thanks Rick.

Between a digital cameras color balance and computer screens, wood color is hard to tell, but I think it's a very figured cocobolo too. High end piece of BEM. That is a VERY nice find.

Looks like coco to me as well, I'd put real value, even without a name, at $250.
Only thing that bugs me about bargains at pawn shops, if they sold it for $100, they likely got it for maybe $50 or 60, and anyone that would sell that cue for that little probably got it by less than legal means.

Not to put a dampter on the thread, but I'm sure many of us are thinking "Is there some guy in the area wondering where his cue went to?".

I'd do some hunting around the local rooms before calling it "yours", or you may run into the owner anyway while playing with it.

Well I might learn something on this cue, I would have bet my last hundo that the butt is Bacote and not Coco. Maybe I need a new monitor. I know I need glasses.;)

There has got to be some significant color variation between all of our computer screens. I don't see any red at all. This is clearly Bocote on my end...but again there could be some serious screen variations on this one.

Although looking back at the pictures you can see the towel on some of the pictures looks white and the few pics in the middle have a very cool tone to them. Almost making the towel look blue in color. This could be why some see the more as a cocobolo wood. That cool tone and bluish look turns brown into a redish tone.

Monitors with gaming/video/text/custom etc profiles can display colors very differently. For some of the settings on my monitor the color is too dark to tell. When I move to custom or text it shows up clearly as bocote for me.

I want to say thanks for all the input. It is bocote, I have had many cues with that kind of wood.

Im looking for a black light to see if its signed in floresent pen.

Thank you again.

Rick

I once had a cue with that exact type bumper setup. I seem to remember being a Kevin Varney
and it looked near identical in craftsmanship to the one you bought.
Regardless the Maker, you didn't buy it ... you stole that Beauty. Nice to see a Pawn Shop lose one.

Its funny they had a Mc D D6 or c 5 in pretty new condition for 225.00, if it was a d 8 i would have picked it up to.
The lady said the sneaky has been their for 3 or 4 months. When I go back next week I will take a look at the Mc d it could be a c 5 I didnt look at the ring work after I saw the sneaky.

Thanks Rick
