ID this GC for me please

Here are some pics of a GC I'm looking at buying. Looks to be in great shape, at least in my opinion. You tell me what you think. I read the thread on identifying a Gc, but most of it was identifying them after it is taken apart. I don't see any GC stanped into the corner castings from the pictures and pictures are the only thing I have to go on right now. If I read the thread right, if it doesn't have GC stamped into the corner castings then it's probably a GC3, but many have also stated that Brunswick likes to use parts left over from a previous year on newer frames possibly. So I'm still a bit confused as to how I could positively Id this thing without taking it apart. The guy seems to be asking a fair price (around 1K).

For one thousand, buy it. Looks like a three. The aprons are longer on the 3's than the previous models.

I am almost certain that the table is a Gold Crown III table, and it looks to be in excellent condition. If you cab buy the table for $1000 you are stealing it, all I can say is buy buy buy!!!

You have nothing to loose.
 
Buy this table and have the pockets tighten to 4.5" on the corners, 5" on the side and do this by extending the rails with Artemis rubber. You would have a sweet playing table.
 
Yes, it's a GC3 but until it's taken apart you're not going to be able to tell if it's an early production GC3 or later...either way it's a good buy.

Thanks for all the input. And yes I am sending the guy a check tomorrow for the purchase. Oh and the rails will be extended and the pockets tightened. Got everything I need ordered to do the job on the way (except for the cloth. haven't decided which type of Simonis I want just yet). I'll try to take some pics this time. I'm sure it'll play better than the Olhausen Pro, not that I'm knocking my Pro but I played on a GC3 on this last job I just got back from today for about 3 weeks and really like it (played almost 8 hours a day. Not much to do up there in the artic circle. lol. On the other hand I could make someone a good deal on the Pro I got though.

Well I went ahead and bought the table. Couldn't rightfully pass it up for a grand. Still have to get some help to go pick it up. I got some Artemis Inter. rubber on the way from the guys over at Diamond (and I got to say they are an absolute pleasure to deal with) along with the neoprene facings, not to mention new feather strips, cloth, Scotch 10 adhesive, and shims. Now I just got to find some mahogany plywood to tighten up them pockets.

ANy plywood will do. It is never going to be seen under the cloth.:thumbup:
