I need help identifying my new to me pool table. I would like to find out what model it is. It was purchased from a store in the area and the salesman told me that it was a brunswick gold crown 3. I know know next to nothing about tables. I cant find any pictures online that show similar legs or the area where the cue balls are stored. Also some of the posts I've read here on the forum indicate that the ashtrays were limited to the gold crown 1 & 2. I can't find any markings under the table to indicate any model information. Please take a look at the pictures and tell me what you think. Thanks.

That's the first one I have sen this clean I have only seen 2 others being sold as early 1 or pre gold crowns with the same frame. I couldn't tell you much other then it doesn't have there commercial style frame it looks more like a heavy duty home frame and the ball box looks like its from the home style tables Mizerak and vip line of tables from the early 70's.

might try www.blattbilliards.com or cal up Victor Conte sales and see if they might know something.

I believe it's closely related to a Gold Crown II because of the ashtray option on the corner castings. This option was not available on the Gold Crown I from the 60's. It's definitely not as nice looking as a GC, but it probably plays just fine, just not worth as much as a GC I or II.

I don't know what the table is but I wish the origional poster would come back on the thread with more pics of the underneath part of the frame and the backside of those blind skirts.

That table looks like it could support a Mac truck!

Thats initially the name popped in my head, but heres a manual for one. Maybe a latter version?

It's definitely a Brunswick Viscount, from the mid 60's. I have a PDF of the manual, if anyone wants it send me a PM.

Thanks for the .pdf, magnetardo. Here's a screen capture of the cover:

Too bad the OP hasn't come back, maybe he's not as interested as we are.

Gotta love that one from the 70's I can just picture that table in a room with orange carpet, Cork and mirrors on the walls and a stalagmite ceiling to top it all off. :rotflmao::rotflmao:

What I want to know is what Brunswick salesman told you that was a Gold Crown III?!?! I'm so frustrated with the lack of training and knowledge there is in retail sales any more. I mean, who would put a salesman on a Brunswick sales floor who doesn't know their flagship model? And who would throw that answer out there without going to the effort to actually find out the right answer!

Ok, rant done. These guys are right. Those legs are unique to a Viscount. Always makes me hungry for pretzels for some reason! ;)

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess the salesman didn't play pool, had never gone to a poolroom, or seen it on TV.....
On a sidenote, that's the cleanest Viscount to show up in 20 years I bet!

Thank you all so very much. I've been coming to this website every day looking at pool cues and reading all the various debates on different tips and shafts, etc. I stopped coming back to this thread after a week or so and just hoped that one day I would see another one for sale so I could ask the owner what model it was. Having a copy of the install manual is unbelievable. I might just have to take the manual and show it to the salesman. Everyone that sees the table gets a kick out of the ashtrays. Hopefully I will be able to build a room in the backyard for it soon but for now the table is in my garage.. If anyone wants any more pictures let me know. Again, thank you all.

Thank you Markuster! I just picked one up yesterday for $300.00 in fair shape. I have the ability to restore it to new condition and plan on adding it to my mancave. I already have a Gandy I restored and had it set up by a pro. All of my pool buddies swear it's the nicest table in town.

It took the better part of two hours searching before I could identify this as a Viscount. What luck to come across the manual too :) thanks again
