IS A FORUM FOR RUN OUT PATTERNS A GOOD IDEA???

I like the pool table overhead view "how would you run out pattern threads alot" because there are alot of ideas and different ideas we share, granted I'm a experienced player and I see most patterns fast but sometimes other players come up with other outs that I didnt see and no matter how many years you have played a second opinion is cool. It makes good conversation, not stop and go shit but complex outs that merit discussion,



WHAT'S EVERYONE'S OPINION OF MAKING A FORUM FOR JUST THIS "THE HOW WOULD YOU PLAY THE PATTERN FOR THE RUN OUT OR RUN OUT TO YOU CAN LOCK UP UP WHO YOUR PLAYING? I BELIEVE WE COULD LEARN ALOT OF GOOD IDEAS BY SHARING HOW WE WOULD PLAY THE BOARD.

PS: sorry my grammer isnt so good today i have a cold and the cold meds made me kinda fuzzy, i'm not thinking clear. but a Cue-Table Forum would be cool to discuss troublesome run outs or run out to a position to play safe, I love the "What would you do threads?". I like hearing other peoples ideas.

Leave 'em in the main forum

I agree that these are among the best threads in the forum because it brings out the pool player in everyone and the discussions are what we're really here for. I don't see the need to partition them into their own forum. The main forum is fine for these, and it seems to be where the majority of the people spend their time. I didn't vote because none of the options reflected this opinion. My vote would be "NO, I'm happy with the way it is".

I think it's own forum would be good. I know when I have free time I like looking for these threads and learning new things, and I don't have to search the main forum for them.
 
I think it would be great to have a forum for patterns only. Presently the threads on patterns are lost if I am not on the computer for several days unless I go back to look for them. I also think more people would participate in a pettern only forum.

I think any and all forums aimed at helping others improve can't be a bad thing. Promoting the game is good for everyone.

Admittedly, I'm no lover of 9 ball, but I do enjoy reading all the ways people see these outs considering the balls have numbers on them and do tend to limit one's creativity.

So I vote yes a separate forum is a good idea, but ... in addition I suggest another forum for straight pool outs that show .... oh, six balls or so. Now we can really start the creative juices flowing. :)
 
In all seriousness, when we started the straight pool forum, it was discuss the game, situations, and strategy. I believe that it has become the most useful, informative, and educational of all the forums. It might be a good idea to start one for layouts and situations in 9 ball and other games. We have several forums for the pro's that are hardly used at all. I'm not sure why any of those sub-forums exist. Perhaps we could make better use of the space.
 
I think it's a bad idea. It's because there has been so much garbage on the main forum of late that many of us are forgetting that the main forum is for pool-related posts. The table talk threads are about as pool-related as it gets, and I'd hate to see them taken out of the main forum. About a week ago, I bumped several such threads because the main forum had run amok, and I wanted the main forum to return to the subject of pool.

I think the bigger issue is why there aren't more of these threads. Since learning how to use the Wei/Cue Table a couple of years ago, I contribute one or two of these in a typical month, but not many take the trouble to do the same. The fact is, all players encounter tricky or ineresting positions when they play pool or sweat matches, but only a few choose to share them with the forum. Jude Rosenstock is a good example of a poster who has been making a big effort of late to share some of the interesting positions he's encountered using Cuetable, and has opened them up for discussion. A few others do the same.

So, my fellow posters, whether you are a beginner, a banger, an intermediate, a strong league player, a top amateur, or a professional, why not share some of the positions you encounter as a player or a match sweater with the forum? You and your fellow AZBers would enjoy these posts and would also learn a lot.

i agree, a table layout forum, some threads might get alot of talk others none,

worst case is kill the forum if it dosent work.

Great answer, you beat me to it. I hope we are all here with a common interest, as well as a lust to learn more. Keep the pool related items on the main forum for all to see. Lets all try to keep our minds open, and feel open about any questions we may have. Keep the pattern related posts coming!
