Pool has been the poor mans sport since the 1890’s
Empowering middle and seniors to play pool.
Imagine same style video but for billiards and billiard types. Its about getting people excited to get out there.

Well today parents just give kids smart phones, video games, and 3 different streaming services and let them stay inside. No fear of pool halls or golf courses because a 5" screen keeps them docile.Parents aren't worried about the kind of people their children will meet if they frequent golf courses, but many of them are worried about the kind of people that their children will meet if they frequent the pool room.
Sure isn't that way out of country, maybe the youth in America is just following what their parents are doing, as their role models?Well today parents just give kids smart phones, video games, and 3 different streaming services and let them stay inside. Cheap entertainment and constant electronic stimulation is why pool halls are declining. Pool's heyday was before the event of television. You could bowl, drink, play cards or go to the pool hall for men's entertainment.
I know this borders on sacrilege but the only way to get the young uns interested in pool is if it's an app on their phone.
What do you mean by present themselves with low self-esteem? As in look a mess?Similarly, patrons who present themselves with low self-esteem and behave poorly in the pool room must also, at least in part, be held accountable for the fact that the pool room isn't a more inviting place for youthful and high-brow patrons.
Not necessarily. All pool would needs for kids to get interested would be availability. I play pool because there has always been a pool table in our house. In fact, I never haven't owned a table. If there wasn't I may have never played who knows. Kids can't learn something they have never seen or experienced. Some will be interested and some won't. But they will never know if they don't have the chance.Well today parents just give kids smart phones, video games, and 3 different streaming services and let them stay inside. That’s funny.Justnum's only contribution to pool is forcing pool shooters to finally look for the ignore button.
A lot of kids grow up playing sports like football, baseball, basketball, golf....and a lot of them stay focused on their dreams of growing up and making it to the Pro'S....why is that, because they can see the $$$$? The way pool is structured today, what could their dreams of a future in Pro pool possibly be, when its a known fact that only about the 16 in the world can actually earn a living!! At least there's millions that can be earned in the video game industry, can you say the same about kid pursuing a dream of some day being a Professional Pool Player? Is it really a wonder why kids today are not attracted to playing pool? Not necessarily. All pool would needs for kids to get interested would be availability. I grew up near the ocean. Had access to boats but never got interested. Never liked diving, or fishing, surfing, nothing, and all I had to do was walk across the street. I would bet most of the pool players on here found pool as adults probably by accident. Are futures are formed in many ways. Me, I had a lot of choices but pool available and caught my interest and I was good at it.
Yes, that's what I mean. What do you mean by present themselves with low self-esteem? As in look a mess?
I don't think that's correct, kids don't play sports because they think they're going to make money at it they play sports because it's fun and it's easily available. If you put a pool table in front of them they might think that's fun and play that too.A lot of kids grow up playing sports like football, baseball, basketball, golf....and a lot of them stay focused on their dreams of growing up and making it to the Pro'S....why is that, because they can see the $$$$? If you're right and the next generation of potential pool players is completely outside the game's reach, then pool is already dying, so I hope you're wrong. Mind you, the same exact reasoning applies to every form of cue sports, so if you are right, and kids will only look to their phones for entertainment, all cue sports are all on death row.Well today parents just give kids smart phones, video games, and 3 different streaming services and let them stay inside. News Flash:Yep, golf has a TV channel, for now. But as more and more sports are heading to subscription viewing platforms, golf will be to sooner or later.

I agree, if kids get the chance to play pool a lot of them like it. We had a cheapie sears pool table with about 1/2" slate and it got me liking the game even as a kid.Not necessarily. I sure hope I'm not right. I said it kind of tongue in cheek. Kids like real world activities too, but it's kind of hard for kids to get involved in pool when the latest trend draws their attention. I know as a kid growing up in the 80s there were certain topics that you had to know or you would be an outcast. Even if you had never played Super Mario Bros, you better be quick at regurgitating things other kids said or you were treated as a leper. Kids are usually interested if given a chance to play. The only way they can is if they have a table at home, a rec center and someone who allows them to play. I don't think pool will ever die, but it's "market share" in entertainment is a tough one to grow as far as new players. Basically there has to be a pool table and enough curiosity (and not minding looking like a beginner in public) to want to try it.If you're right and the next generation of potential pool players is completely outside the game's reach, then pool is already dying, so I hope you're wrong. Here's the deal, sponsors have never had an interest in sponsoring because pool has never been organized enough to get the attention of sponsors. But what if it was, and what if there was a program that insured sponsors would see a ROI...then what? Is everyone so dead set on saying pool is dead or dying, if money were to actually come into this sport? How can anyone condemn something that has never happened yet?I agree, if kids get the chance to play pool a lot of them like it. You can't fix pool from the bottom up, that fix has to come from the top down!!I agree, if kids get the chance to play pool a lot of them like it. We had a cheapie sears pool table with about 1/2" slate and it got me liking the game even as a kid.

The answer is pretty simple, if you, yourselves, won't support pool, what chance does the next generation have, and why are you so concerned about bringing them into this game....that YOU won't even support!!!
Most corporate sponsors who shell out 100's of millions in advertising dollars would disagree with you if their sponsorship dollars could drive their sales to show an increase in profits, they don't care if it's pool or checkers, as long as they can see a measuremable return on their advertising dollars they're going to spend anyway!!!Well we are back to your not supporting Pool hog wash. So my question is like I shot st guy who was pitching me to join, and support DAV.
I asked for a list of membership benefits? After listing to his reply I said, nothing of value to me, you magazine is bush league.
So if Pool is not a Non Profit that files IRS 990, can not deduct support off taxes.
I honestly do not think most corporate sponsors are in hurry to support a sport with mediocre income people as target audience.
