Ideas that haven't saved pool

Well I use to joke about if some local Pool organizer took potential sponsor to a local pool room.

The potential sponsor would take one look, and say pass.

Because most of the players look like they are homeless.

Pool player don’t like to dress like other pro athletes.
i specialize in promoting and recruiting to high risk populations.

Sometimes they need to hear and see where it goes.

I am working on a general pool development plan to help solo players and players create group activities.

Instead of pleasing the sponsor think about helping someone new enjoy pool.

it could be as easy as just telling them the league schedule. or showing them players to get ready for.

I am trying to develop a mockumentary.

"The sports industry that almost could"
Then I would provide narration through the investors and failed marketing campaigns.
The sport as a multinational, distribution system across the globe, mostly Euro, Asia, and North America
The sport is growing slowly and keeping most of its fans.

The last clip will be about growing pocket clusters in the sport.

The motivation is pool is an established community and no one is marketing products through their system.
The pool hall is a community place ask any pro pool player, they know at least 10 people from every profession and walk of life.

Then I end the video on the best social media personalities to follow, mostly pool players or room owners.
Won't interest any sponsors, sorry. Their interest is their ROI. If you can't satisfy that, you won't even get through the door, let alone talk to someone.

So in your case, what's in it for the sponsor??

After COVID ensuring the success of local pool rooms is more important than the magical and mythical sponsor who doesn't have any staying power. Its a good lure to imagine the sponsor just needs to put money down to make the magic work.

Some sponsors just want to put money in, others want to be part of something.

I am less optimistic about super sponsor with money, but maybe someone that wants to be there and be part of the community is a good alternative investment. In this case the sponsor is the pool room owner and staff and patrons. The benefit being the pool room did its job and won a person over to become a regular at least for a league or tournament.

I can't believe I am saying I outlived Ginky from NYC. But I did. Sometimes sponsors just need to know new people are interested.

Sponsors are life blood of most sports PHA is good example.

Most PGA Events pay over $1,000,00.00 for a 4 day event.

Then you got the Kornferry Tour, is minor league Golf. Most events pay 100K plus.

Kornferry is the minor league.

They don't care about new players, new pool rooms, it's none of their concern!! What is of their CONCERN is that they see profitable return for their money spent on sponsorship.

I know if we fix the pay, that'll fix the play. It don't work the other way around!

The problem I am suffering is there are not enough players or interest for pool in my area.

I can imagine thats the same problem for most room owners, the regulars are selling the room off at a discount.

I am familiar with many minor and semi pro leagues and sports. In Latin countries high school aged futbol players are recruited to play on adult teams. Most women athletes in college know they will not play professional and just want the scholarship or chance to be part of a team.

Female student athletes in college feels like the best fit for how players view pool. Its an activity not a career change.

Large purses, or payout attract player. Plus added money.

Corporate sponsor have money, but the also expect a return on investment.

You guys are still trying to put a twist on the old way of managing pool, more money means bigger tournaments, bigger tournaments mean more viewers....thats what the sponsors want! Couldn't be more wrong!

I am targeting billiard narration for an upcoming video. I do not agree with more prize money logic.

I think people new to billiards will get intimidated by all the "drills" and "fees".

Pool needs more tour guides to point out obvious information.

A sport that has no betting line at the sports book is likely not ever going to be a big sport.
Corporate sponsors look for one thing mainly, REACH.
What kind of demographics and what size do their ads reach ? That's their main concern.
Golf thrives because golfers have major disposable money . And there are gazilions of them.

I can't help notice the irony of you not even sponsoring this site.

Well, I guess that would all depend on who's doing the sponsoring, wouldn't you think??? Do you think casinos are going to start sponsoring pool events, they would stand to gain from those events.....wouldn't they, following that train of thought!!!!

I am honestly not worried one way or another. Use to compete in location 9 ball tournaments, entry fee was $7.00 or so.

It was for fun, if I got money up for night, it was not life changing. If I list it was entertainment.

Turn off was promised guaranteed, & advertised added money that was not added.

So it back to recreational Pool.

Casinos also want return on anything they give, they are not in business for laughs and giggles.
