Identify these Asian women players. First correct one gets a rep point. Extra point for when (year) and where (venue or tournament). :)

Well, I tried twice to PM you, but AZ won't send a PM through...not sure what is up with that!

Tall one is Jeannette Lee, and could that be the Queen next to her?! ;) :D

Lisa ------------> who is not up late, but up early, since she has to be at work @ 5:30am!!!!!!

Impossible!

Left: looks familiar, but can't come up with the name
Next: no idea
Next: Linda Carter
Next: Jeanette Lee
Next: Jennifer Chen, also looks something like Akimi Kajitani
Next: no idea

Event: I'm guessing this had to be a BCA Open or a World Championship, most likely in the late 1990's.

I'm sure it's gonna be pretty embarrassing when you post the answers.

Sorry, couldn't resist that line! The same line almost cost me some ribs years ago. My brother married a beautiful Korean girl and brought her back to the states when his hitch in the army was up. A few years later we were all at a family get together and things being crowded, my brother, my wife, and I were all jammed on a love seat with me in the middle.

My cousin had just brought a Korean wife home and his parents were holding a reception so the family could meet her. My brother asked if I was going: "Naah, they all look the same anyway." Wham!! My brother knew I was joking but the elbow in the ribs from the other side was enough to take my breath away. Nothing wrong with marrying Koreans but I have sworn off of marrying Texans with bony elbows!

Too small of a picture for these bleary eyes to make any foolish guesses as to who is who this early in the morning.

On the far right should be Shin-Mei Liu.
My guess is 1993 New York straight pool open.

If so, Liu won that one played in NYC at the hotel directly across the street from Madison Square Garden.

I'd be willing to bet that some of the people who are in the picture couldn't name all six of these.

Liu Shin Mei, Jennifer Chen, Jeanette Lee, Linda Carter, and the one second from the left I believe could be a player from Taiwan, her last time is Lin. She no longer plays. But it is hard to tell really.
No idea about the person to the far left.

Linda,

Was this taken during the Hawaii tournament in the late 90's. It looks a little like Hawaiian Brians room.

Hey Linda

Linda

Please clear your pm box it is full. This picture was taken in the early to mid 90's but not sure where at.

Stu, I thought for sure you would have at least 4 of the 5 identified! Event is not right either. <Loving it that I stumped you, tee hee!>

Lisa, the box is cleaned out and ready for business. (And keep your mind out of the gutter!) :p

That's funny. I use that line all the time and say, "All you white people look alike!" It gets a laugh every time. :p

Very good on the player. The picture was scanned from an issue of Pool and Billiards magazine and she was on the fold. So you did great guessing her. The event is not right though. You're not going to see me squandering my money to play in a big straight pool event any time soon! I know my limits!

You're right. I don't think any one of them know who all the others are. And I only know because I have the article. :p

No idea about the person to the far left.

You guys are narrowing it down, but the 2nd player is from Japan, if that helps. Kevin has identified the first player and I told him to post it here for a rep point.

Jay, I am REALLY surprised you did not get the first player since she is from your neck of the woods! And especially since the tournament was also in your neck of the woods. ;)

You had to make it hard and use the word 'identify' didn't you? You couldn't just say 'name' these players?

I just had to use the 4 syllable word, when the 1 syllable word would have sufficed, lol.

OMG, Aya Ishii! And is that at the Bicycle Club?

Let see, Aya, Kajitani, You, Jeanette, Jennifer Chen and Shin-Mei Liu. Am I close?

This would be in 1995, the second tournament Allison played here. She beat Loree Jon in the finals.
