It ain't bars anymore. This happened to me in a top of the line pool hall in an APA match. Pool has turn into a nation of jackasses. That's why I don't play anyone I don't know anymore. And people post threads about what happened to pool. I am hard core and I won't even play these #$O#$)#*.

Sometimes they take it a step further and lean on your table while you are practicing. That's fun.
 
I can fade most stuff but having said that :-)

The guy with bridge hand fingers that move like a spider.

Folks that play with a toothpick in their mouth.

And my favorite, the guy who, on the table next to you, will endless set up and practice the same jump shot over and over. (Usually massacring it and not even coming close.)

Back in the 80's I played a lot in bars. That's how I got my McDermott, won it off a guy. After a certain point I stopped though.

That certain point was when a dude that was down a few hundred grabbed my JOSS and was about to break it. My buddy Dog, and biker brother, who goes about 265 and isn't fat, grabbed my cue, handed it to me, and threw the guy...threw him...out of the bar.

I mostly did not shoot in bars for about the next 20 years.

1) When I am in a match and someone tries to start a conversation with myself or my opponent. I like to play intense whether it's a big tournament, a league match or a money game. Go somewhere else to have a conversation.

2) The play by play guy. He commentates on his every shot..."I went too far on that one." "I wanted to hit the side first rail." "I didn't use enough follow." Shut up. I can see what you did! I didn't come here to play with Curt Gowdy.
 
I have a friend that won't just sit down when his turn is over. Chalking his tip, standing right at the table. Won't move if he's close behind you.

Last time we played was the final time.

Things that drive me crazy are cry baby guys who obsess about keeping everything clean, and people who constantly bring up their income as if that has any bearing on the amount of gamble you have, and in must times its grossly exaggerated.....oh, and guys who probably dont play that good, but act like they can beat everyone...:thumbup::rolleyes:

What about the guy who comments on all of YOUR shots while you're running balls?
-"Why didn't you shoot that in the side?"
-"I'd have went two rails."
-"Whoops! Hit that one too hard."

I guess I just hate most people...
 
People that play in leagues that allow coaching, that stand and stare at a shot for five minutes ...... and then ask for a coach.

Never played a guy like that but I would gladly forfeit the match before I shot him.

Or the guy that tells you that you hit it to "hard", etc. etc. Yeah, thanks Einstein, the ob went past my spot and now I have to bank my next shot. I figured out that I hit it too hard, 1/8 second after the tip hit the cue ball, but thanks for the reminder, what would I ever do without you ;)
 
Guys with no awareness of the other tables, and just stand there jerking off and preventing others from shooting.

They can be on a table in the corner of the room with 2 open sides, and a table next to them that's empty,
and then my table... and they will both hang out on THAT ONE SIDE THAT BLOCKS ME FROM SHOOTING.
And I gotta ask like six times... "Excuse me sir. Excuse me. Excuse me. Excuse me sir."

Eventually I just get close to them and accidentally backswing into their kidney.

Things that drive me nuts are poor etiquette no matter what type of game it is. League play seems to get like that all the time.
Sore losers, my gosh that just kills the game for me. And people that like to stick their two cents in about who I should jump in the box with and who I should stay away from.
Guy last night does it to me all the time. We're good buds, but every time he hears I'm matching up with this or that guy, it's "now what are you gonna go and do something stupid like that for" "you can't beat him". I have and will again, sir! Funny we played league minutes after he said that to me, and I beat him and he fell into the poor etiquette and sore losers category.
"You know you missed that 8 ball". I said yeah buddy, that's why it's in the pocket and I'm shaking your hand right now.
