Thanks for the clarification. I did a search of him before posting what I did and did not find that he had won the one pocket event in Tunica.

I stand corrected and my apologies for the oversight!

I only singled Justin out because I do believe he is the key to winning the Cup.

I didn't say he wasn't a phenomenal player I just said he hasn't won some of the crowning events like the DCC or Tunica or US Open. Hes won some nice events this year but I wouldn't consider them elite events.

Just for clarification.. Justin won Hard Times.. with victories over Appelton and Carlo Bialdo…..not to mention several other major players….

Not to mention smoking Aces with a top national field (yes I know it was on a bar table)…

He finished second in memphis finishing ahead of players like dennis hatch and johnny Archer….

he really has had a fantastic year
 
I dont think anyone understand how bad schmidt is going to be, he will have the worst record in this cup, just watch. anyone see his performance at us open this year? pathetic.

No doubt that Justin is playing very well right now and I only hope it carries over to the MC.

It's obvious I didn't word my post exactly right and even misspoke on his Tunica win. Hardtimes is a good tourney but I was only speaking of events with huge fields.

As I stated earlier, I stand corrected!!

John is playing a lot of pool right now. He is in big money games almost daily, taking on the best players in SoCal (Santos, Geronimo, Vilmos). Basically he is getting prepared for a big fight. I see this year's Mosconi as vindication for John. He knows in his heart that he is as good as anyone out there. I think he will be fired up and ready for action. This feels like it's gonna be a good one. A lot of emotion on both sides.

Jay's right, anyone can play the final match, it's up to the captain.

When we were one match away from "hill/hill" (2012) I decided on Shane, however I ask him his opinion first. He told me "I'm in the zone....in the same one I was in when I won the US OPEN".....he was, in my opinion, congruent in his statement and everyone agreed.

This is impossible to predict until the time comes when the decision must be made. There are many contributing factors and some days Shane is even off his game. In my opinion Justin B. is their best weapon this year......if he plays well they may actually have a chance to upset Europe. Only time will tell. 'The Game is the Teacher'

rules

the format is

you can't play doubles with same guy twice...

singles got to play at least 2 singles

they changed the rules around 2009.. because prior to that certain players were playing more matches and some we not playing singles at all...

now the team sort of pics itself ..the capt just picks the order.. but every player got to play 3 or at least 2 doubles and 3 singles or 2 ..roughly..

if the match goes 10-10 hill hill... its captains pick

i know in 2010 i was the pick for europe and hatch if goes hill hill.
2011 i was the pick if goes hill hill and i guess shane.
2012 i was the pick again, and also was shane but ended 11-9.

last year never got spoke about because we won 11-2.

Daz is sorta right that the lineup kinda picks itself. There are 10 different combos of possible double pairings and only 7 are used. So there are some choices to be made.

Daz - are you playing the first singles match on the first day? :)
