If you bought a cue

Hard to tell from your pics but probably just the faces are not cut square. Would I be upset? Yes, but it is not a hard thing to fix. Worse case the pin is bent and that can be fixed also.

Yes, but only because the warp is at the end of the shaft. If it was about 10 inches lower then no.

Upset? It would depend on the seller's reaction when I contacted him requesting a return for a refund. If I requested that and the seller said no problem, what would there be to be upset about?

> If the tip is coming up like that when assembled, but the individual pieces rolled straight, the problem is the joint facing, either on the shaft or the butt isn't FLAT,and probably not warped.

You almost never see that on a cue with a SS joint, and if you do,it HAS to be the shaft isn't faced properly,or it was and it moved, probably due to moisture.

If this was disclosed ahead of time,it would be fine.

If it wasn't,and a cue I bought showed up like that,if I could get to wherever the seller lives,I'd be knocking on their door.

If you know someone that works on/builds cues,it's a 45 second fix. Tommy D.

Ain't that the truth

Ditto!!!!!!!

Are you rolling the shaft on the butt or off?

Are you putting pressure on the cue when you roll it?

When you screw it together can you see light when one side of the face touches and the other does not?

Maybe its a new "wheaty taper"!

But yes, if the seller did not disclose this then yeah I would be mad but almost everything is fixable to a point. It just depends what that cue will be worth to you in the end.

Call if you need help...

Because we all know where that ends up, lol. Still waiting on the movie...

Hey I'm not saying this guy is jumping the gun, but he did ask what the reaction would be without mentioning what the seller said when he contacted them and gave them a chance to make it right, so I'm just saying.......

The test is not whether we make mistakes or not, we all make mistakes, the test is how we handle the ones we make.

Kevin

PS By "Wheaty taper" are you referring to the dear departed Eddie Wheat?

Notice I did not say what kind of cue this is nor did I say where I purchased it. I have contacted the party but intentionally did not mention any names. I am not looking to fry anyone with this thread.

The question was only what your reaction would be. The cue is being rolled assembled and rolled with the butt flat. The faces of the shaft and butt seem to mate up correctly. The shaft rolled separate has the wobble but the tip stays on the table then.

Again I am not trying to burn anyone in this thread. Just looking to see what others think and what they think the solution should be.

My solution, if I was unhappy with what I bought sight unseen, would be return it for a refund.

If it was my purchase

If I did not know about the slight roll, I would contact the seller, and let him know how I feel, and then come together on a solution to fix the issue. This could include the full return of the cue to the seller for my money, but there are always other solutions, if the buyer and seller come to an agreement that suits them both.

But always talk to the seller first, and see what can be done to make both parties happy.

I have found that this approach works best, and is how I would want to be treated if I was the seller in a similar circumstance.

Like my parents always said: "Treat others how you would want to be treated"

Lesson learn

I have bought over 100 cues / got 2 bad deals. One cue maker had my money for over a year and never got started on my cue. I call him one nite and ask for a refund. It so happen he just started on the cue the night I told him not to. So I ask what is the charge for what he had done? He said. I will keep the money that you send (1/2 the total price) and we are even. I replied / your kidding...he said no. I end the chat and the next morning call BBB/ he got a letter and I got a call from him / sending me my full refund. The other guy just made crappy cues/ so I bit the bullet. When i ask for a refund he said / this cue was made to your specs///// hard to sell to anyone else.....I had rather gotten a Players cue....but life goes on. Good luck / just be carefully if your buying from unknow cuemakers / and ones that has really retired.....One more thing / sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes you get nothing. Again good luck ....
