If you can get these through airport security, why not a pool cue?

I was in an airport (past security) in Texas not long ago, and I saw two guys each with deer antlers sticking out of their backpacks.

These seem a lot more dangerous than a pool cue.

Skateboards are the same. On International flights they are not permitted as carry on for quite a while (although you can have just the board for a while... which involved taking off the trucks and sticking them in a bag and made fuck all sense to me o_O). For a while domestic flights were still relative to your specific governance. I think pretty much all countries have taken up the international stance now...
Once I flew to Yunnan, with a board in carry-on... this was as the policy was changing. On the way back, I was told I couldn't. Was quite fun to snap it in half and look at their bewildered faces... They let me put it under my seat... if the logic was that it was a weapon before, not sure how the now jagged edges made It safer? :ROFLMAO:

I only have recent experience transporting a snooker cue to my father - I bubble wrapped the aluminium case and put it inside a Burton Ski bag. Worked well.

I have a 3seconds case, and was thinking to buy an outer case so that I could travel with it (I never usually check bags). I want to go to Japan pretty soon. So, I have two questions that are relative and I don't think constitute as a thread hijack lol

1) Do you fly with your cue?

2) What case do you use to fly with? Do you use a pool-specific outer case, or put your cue case in the usual checked suitcase?

The Airlines have some Crazy rules, and they are not even consistent at the different Airports. This is obviously ridiculous. The Airlines asked a Lady with a Miniskirt on, if she had on Underwear, and told her that she couldn’t sit on the Seat without Panties or other underwear, but a Male Passenger wore only a Bra, Panties, Hat, Heels, and Garterbelts, and was allowed to Fly! Make it make Sense!

I'm glad I missed that flight.

I have the solution, use less suspicious bags for cue equipment. Medical and senior citizen passengers travel with new and experimental equipment.

Put the pool cue concealed inside a medical device approved for air travel. If it makes it gets Xrayed wow, that person is thorough. It would just appear as part of the walker or cane or bag.

If someone tries to take flash the med docs and explain its a lifesaving device.

Otherwise have fun. What would a passenger on a plane do? i
Its more fun to test the inspector than to be the inspector.

After all the grounded planes and holiday season, the engineering team cost everyone the bonuses.

More shit advice, coupled with fantasy and lies.

I flew once with a cue in checked baggage. I put it in a Kelli hard case and put that in an overcase that was lockable with a TSA padlock. When I got it back it was ok but the TSA padlock was left unlocked from where they took it out to check it and failed to lock it back. Got lucky and everything was ok but won't try it again.

Thanks for sharing, I am looking for someone to convince me that it won't be lost or broken lol

Best I recall pool cues are one of the things specifically banned in carry on so if you get cute hiding one you are asking for trouble.

Go for it champ.

Let us know whether your mother shows up to pay your bail or not.

There is a well known member here that has flown internationally for years with an expensive pool cue. He packs it into his checked luggage, does not declare it and goes on his merry way.

It has ivory inlays as well. Never had an issue that I am aware of. I will not say who he is so don’t ask please.

Kind of want to know who beat someone up with a cue and had them banned lol

I think using it as a thrusting weapon is more the concern. You can jam one pretty much through somebody's torso. Snapping the shaft makes it easier but is by no means a must. A two handed thrust works nicely. I used one about 1970. I can attest it worked nicely or not nicely depending on your perspective.

Aside from any other consideration, it looks like it could be used as a weapon and we know with the gubment appearance is more important than reality.

I think in checked luggage it would be fine? I would put it inside another case. It's clearly a personal item and not a purchase. So not sure why it would need declaration?

I just don't ever travel with checked bags. Looks like I will have to in the future. Just hate waiting around for a bag to slug it's way around a conveyor belt.
