What game would you like to be your best game? I would like to be really good at 9 Ball. I shoot ok for Alaska and especially for my little town, but I'm not "really good". Alaska for the most part is an 8 or 9 Ball state. I like the speed of 9 Ball and the moving the cue ball and safety aspect of it.

That's a really tough question. I know that a lot of guys on here think that one pocket is the be all and end all of pool games but I like them all. I usually find that if a player is really good at one game he is respectable in all games. The best one pocket player I know of plays one hell of a 14.1, 9ball, and 8ball game.

straight pool/3c

I couldn't pick one
I also enjoy 8ball
but never cared for any other games

but straight pool and 3c are my games, no matter how poorly a player I am

The most challenging games for me today are Onepocket & Snooker.
I would choose Snooker as the game at which I'd prefer to excel.

One pocket or straight pool, they seem like the hardest two games to be really good at. I'm a B player at best and have beaten excellent players in competition playing 9 ball due to a healthy spot and a lot of luck, whereas I don't believe I'd have a chance in hell at beating a high level amateur in either one pocket or straight pool - no matter how lucky I got or how big a spot they gave up. I love one pocket and don't play a ton of straight pool but I think one informs the other. I'm almost inclined to say straight pool due to the strategy and planning involved as well as the crowd management aspect. Breaking out clusters favorably, manufacturing break balls, etc. seems to require a ton of skill.

The only game I truly love is 9 ball. Its got a mechanical beauty to it when played well.

I got my game back in halfway decent shape before I left Alaska, but I couldnt get higher than 5/6th in the last 4 open tournaments I played up there.
Now Im in an area without a big pool scene, and I need to get back to where I feel Im playing ok. They have some open 7' tournaments here at the coast. Im trying to motivate myself into getting back in stroke enough to cash in one.

I screwed up before I left and got on the "A" list up there. Its a somewhat amusing story.

Snooker. While I love to play pool, in the end it was all about the money. Johnnyt
