if you could....

I'm talking about PLAYING CUES. which cue do you think plays well enough to use daily, and why is it like that? feedback, response of shaft, solid hit, etc...I'm looking for REAL answers here guys, not just "cause I like them". answers like the ones I'm getting are doing me no good...I want to know an honest reason as to WHY you'd pick what you would, and resale value means nothing...its all about playability in this thread for me. so c'mon, give me better answers guys

Without question it is Mike Webb for me then. In terms of pure playability, consistency, and a beautiful forward punch, Mike is right at the top. Thank God I only have another week or two to wait ;)

As for a cue I have never played with but have only heard great things it would be Joel Hercek. With Joel I only have another 6 years to go :D

How's that?

Which ones would do you believe those are? South West was called South West instead of "Franklin Cues" because there wasn't just one person making the cues. And there were hundreds of cues in the "Franklin-era" that Jerry never laid a hand on.

Fred

Do you mean that the SW cues were made at some other location? Or that hired help made the cues in SW's shop?

As far as playablity, I have never played with a Webb or Bluegrass cue that I didnt like. They are different but I like them both alot.

As a result, I was shocked by your answer. I expressed that. If you wish to respond by calling me an a** hole, that's fine. I'm not offended. I'll simply sit back and enjoy reading your humorous posts for a long time to come!

I got your dream PLAYING cue here, Egyptian king.:)

Where did you find that?!?!?

If it says Mottey, Manzino, or Haley on it, I'll take it!!!!!!

if you could have 1 or maybe 2 cues by ANY cuemaker, who would it be and why? I have recently added a cuemaker to my SHORT list, and would like to know your thoughts. anyways, you all know my first pick...and I recently added Mike Stacey to that SHORT list. yeah, I know...I've given two, but can't decide which one's cue to use really...each works better on one table than another for me. for example...my new (used) Mike Stacey will primarily be used in a bar setting cause of the english it gets, even on a slow bar box. my other cues (no need to name them) will be used primarily on 9 foot tables due to the great feedback and stability while using them on one, not to mention my fear of having them lost or stolen. so, whats your pick and why?

Joel Hercek & Ernie Giutterez.
Next would be Barry Szamboti & Bill Schick
Next would be David Kersenbrock & Dennis Searing
Next- okay, okay, I'll stop.

done

ok, regretfully I have to let this thread die since you guys aren't getting the rules. I know alot of the bigger names out there, but am not interested in those strictly for a name and resale value. I want PLAYABILITY!!! unlike some of you, I'm NOT a collector even though have been labeled as one in sorts, I'm a player and want the BEST player I can get...and so far, I already have them :D ;) . telling me what kind of cue will do me no good, I want details as to why its so good, and maybe I'll decide to form my own conclusion. I'm done looking at this thread, but more detailed descriptions are wanted so pm me some if ya' want to. thanks for the responses guys, 1 or 2 were actually almost what I'm looking for. c-ya, Jeff

No thanks.
Somehow you don't know how to cut, copy and paste.
I doubt if you have 140+ IQ.

Duke,
Check out my thread in the Wanted/For Sale section. If you buy the cue I'm offering, I guarantee that your game will go up to where you can run two --- maybe even THREE balls in a row (ok..at least two). You will love the hit on either the house cue or cuetec options (see my later post in this thread). I know that you will think they all play JAM UP. Good luck.

I change my mind Dukester:

Forget Manzino, Haley, Mottey, Schick. Why bother with Szamboti, Tascarella, McWorter, Herceck? Who needs cues by guys like Showman, Searing, Kersenbrock, South West???

If I could own any two cues, it would be a Valley house cue with a Matt_24 signature and a Cuetech, Earl Strickland model with the signature sanded off and replaced with the John Hancock of Matt_24 himself!!! Now that is a collection to behold!!!!!

Thank you! It is about time somebody with some taste and class spoke up.

I own quite a few nice looking and great name cues but..

My two favorites are a McDermott and a $400 Jacoby! :)

Is there some reason you think anyone put up choices that didn't have playability in mind as well? Would you mind giving the list of names you've seen written that wouldn't be considered highly playable?

Fred <~~~ would pick Mike Lambros
