if you had to pick one person to win a game for you who would it be

Best pressure players I've seen in my life include: Lassiter, Ronnie A., Danny D. and Cornbread among the old timers. Present day: Wu, Orcollo, Mika and Shane. Keith also never showed any fear of any game for any amount. He just got a little lazy sometimes. ;)
Maybe the best player all time under pressure was Harold Worst. Nothing fazed him! He was always the one applying the pressure, not the one feeling it!

NO ONE handles the pressure like Ralf Souquet does, this guy is rock solid. I would pick this guy with out even thinking twice about it.

Name Dropper!

, I kinda liked Mr. Eddie Taylor myself,Jay! But you got a great pick in there with Danny D. The original"smooth criminal" . lol.

If it's gambling for $10k, James Walden. Smart and smoooove, baby.

Back in the day, Buddy Hall. Johnny has to be thrown in there for tournament play.

i hear alot of people say johnny when it comes to tournament play over the years...not knocking his tournament game but i don't think anybody has beat him gambling in 10 years or more

> My choice would be ME! Why trust something like this to someone that may not give a damn about your outcome?

I'm surprised that not one of the previous posters has mentioned the WINNINGEST player the game has ever seen,Mike Sigel.

If I had to choose another player,it would be Mike. If it had to be a currently active player,Ralf,Thorsten,or Johnny would be my choice, but I like the fact that Wu was mentioned, that kid has NO dog in him.

He proved that by taking ball in hand down 16-12 and running out the set for the World 9-Ball title in front of several hundred people AND ESPN cameras,as a 16 yr old. Tommy D.

Johnny is another great closer. He knows how to seal the deal!

Great post as per usual Jay.
That's the MAIN reason why I feel that Ching-Shun Yang hasn't won the WC yet. All the expectations of taking Chao's torch is just a bit much for him. In big events, he seems to always fold late. One on one, he's a killer.
Not saying in anyway he doesn't have heart, but I do think he doesn't handle big pressure well at all.

Chuck Norris....I'm winning one way or the other....

:D

Efren is a good pick as well....

ive played pool for over 40 years and this question will come up from time to time and my answer is only based on the players that i know and have seen play. my choice would be efren in his prime.regaurdless of the shot bank, cut shot, kick shot or position efren is the best ive ever seen.it doesnt matter what game is being played he plays them all jam up.i know there are so people who may or may not agree with me but look at his track record for the last 30 plus years.anyway looking forward to hear some the responses

If nine ball, my answer among current players is Ralph Souquet

If I had to absolutely play my last dollar on someone winning a pool game or games against his or her peers... it would be Allison Fisher back in the day. She was a machine.

Efren Reyes without question. There's alot of other great names on here but the clincher for me is that he can play anything with a cue
