I've got the pool fever and its gonna get me fired. All day I'm thinkinig about playing. I surf the pool website and forums every chance I get. I'm tired from staying out late playing. I' practicing my bridge rather than shipping what I'm supposed to or writing procedures. I'm gonna get fired and I've never felt better. Great game huh.

Good luck in your efforts to get fired. It will give you more time to play pool especially if you don't mention the "career change" to your wife for a month or three. After the divorce you will have even more time for pool. Give things a chance and they all work out! :D

I feel your pain. I thought I was going to for a while when I first started my job 3 years ago here. Having to get up at 5:30am after being at league or tourneys Sunday night to Thursday night leads to some days of lack of sleep or hung over. By the time the weekend rolled around I would sleep until noon catching up on sleep. Got old so I quit a couple leagues and balanced my tourney schedule to have some time off to relax and recoup. As long as the work got done they didn't complain but man it was a struggle.

I am getting back into thinking about pool more again after wasting a year of practice with World of Warcraft.

Balance

You absolutely must have balance .It is balance that is the one constant of the universe .You can never do too much of anything and it not come back to haunt you.In any facet of life, you must have a degree of balance my friend .If you eat Big Mac's everyday you will get fat and die .If you gamble large and out of control everyday you will eventually go busted .No one is saying that you must stop doing the things that you like to do,or eating the things you like to eat.But Balance is the key.Balance and priorities.

Put the cue down, and go to work!

Man have I been there....as a matter a fact I might be still there. Well if we both get fired we could go on the road together.

Must be a short road...

or maybe a "drive" or possibly a "street" because you two won't get that far- considering neither one of you will have enough money to get out of town.:)

I have one thing to say,

Get a new job Bob,
Get a new game James,
Get on the road Moe,
Give it a go Joe.

And when you wake up one day in the back seat of your car, broke in Podunk, Iowa, just thank me for my guidance. :)

Change it!

Would you really change your past?

So is it safe to assume you posted this today at work?:p

yeah it cost me my degree almost ten years ago. I used to work in the game room at school and skip classes to play some sets for cash. Definatley lost more on classes than I won on the table. I just got back into pool recently again which kinda sucks because I just got back to school again after a ten year hiatus!! No prob though....somebody already said it's a balance. I got a 3.0 last semester and that coincided with playing, practicing and tourneys. It can be done!!!

That's some good advice . . .
