I am in Tampa today staying at the crowne plaza Tampa westshore hotel. I have a rental car and will be here until Thursday morning. Any cool pool halls or places in the area? Any beaches?? It's my first time in Florida and didn't have much time to research. Thanks.

Clearwater beach is always rated high on the travel channel and is not far at all from you. St Pete is a decent place also.
Strokers in Palm Harbour and Crooked Cue in Clearwater are my frist 2 choices.
As far as towns to check out I always liked Tarpon Springs. it a nice area and they have sponge boats and some good greek food.
You may also want to check out Ybor City but becareful at night the surrounding area can be a bit dangerous.
Channelside can be a decent visit they have some good places to eat a few club type places.
Also Hattricks in downtown is a great sportbars with good food and some very attractive staff.

Nice ... But, Daytona is on the other side of the state!
Beachside is ok but that would be a drive from Tampa.
If your making the trip to Daytona there is only one room to check out and that is Waldo's. Thursday - sunday are the best days to go in there and mention AZ to the guy behind the counter.
the weather is ideal for the next few days so I would try the beach during the day and strokers palm harbor at night. they are open til 2 and have a 9 ball tourney tomorrow night

I'm looking for the best pool hall to visit in the area, willing to drive up to 30 mins. Would love to go to a tournament tonight or tomorrow night, any suggestions?

waldos is a great hall just always found better action at beachside
Waldo's & Beachside? lol, You guys are trying to send him om a 2.5 hour trek across the state.
Salam4, Im sorry I dont know of a Tuesday tourney off hand... but there are 5-10 rooms withng 30 minutes of you... Id try the strokers 1 & 2 first... the closest to your physical location is probably "the rack" on Platt street (near downtown) I think Bakers still exists in some fashion or another (re-opened recently I think) both are 5-10 minutes away...
Lots of options if your just looking for a table.

I enjoyed that room alot.....if you see mail man in there tell him Matt said howdy.One real cool place to see that is close to that room in Honeymoon Island. Lots of cool birds and rattlesnakes.
