I'm looking to identify this Helmstetter cue

Nice Cue

I don't know much about these cues so I am very curious about the outcome of what the experts say here but I'd guess that its identification should be rather difficult because my suggestion would be that it is not a production made model but something more unique - considering the signature, the extensive use of ivory and a pretty unusual design.

Naturally I could be very wrong but these are my guesses.

It's a very nice cue so Good Luck!

VIP's

I used to have a Pro Shop and sold that Richard Helmsteader's VIP line. This was in the mid '90's
I think they were made at his factory in Japan. The cue's look like the same style as the photos you posted. Same type/style of inlays and finish.. Workmanship was really good, and I thought they hit well. Didn't sell well, maybe the price?? I think his line were in the $300.00 to $700 range. If only I can find those Brochures. I had tons of burchures for all kinds of cue.
Gotta remember, Richard has some bucks in those days and set up his "Factory" really well.. You know he made the "Big Birthas" Golf clubs. I'm not into Golf,so, I don't knoew if eye spelt it rite.. (Ha) :p Right??
SPELL CHECKER!!
I thought I'd better add, that I think he also owned Adam's Custom Cues and the "Balabuska" "Series" line of cues. The ones that had the Balabuska signature on the forearms.

Adams RCH-VIP 1-11 cue with SS joint

What you have is an Adams RCH-VIP 1-11 cue with SS joint.

Hope the link of brochure photos and May-1992 pricing help.

Price in May-1992 was $890.00 US dollars.

Cue was available with stainless steel (SS) joint - like this one - or high impact resin joint.

The cue you show appears to be in excellent condition for its age. I would expect the SS joint option to be more valuable over time - but that is just my humble opinion.

I recall this particular cue, because I saw it once in a cue shop and was very close to buying it.

The contrast between the two (2) lighter color inlays is very nice. You photos do not do this contract justice.

The information above is right on target, and the prices you listed are also good to go.

Very good Call!!

Thanks guys,
I will talk to the owner to register here and post the cue in the wanted/for sale forum.

Value increase or decrease is a good question .....

This link should have the pricing paper and brochure from 1992.

Only question should be did value increase or decrease, and if so - to what.

Let me know if the link does not work.

Very Good link, Thanks Much
