Last night, for the second year in a row, I won the Shaw AFB Championships. It may not sound like a big deal, but I don't get many chances to win tournaments so BACK OFF:D:D
ERIC

Congratulations Eric, and thank you for helping to keep us all safe!:D

I know what you mean about "getting along with", imagine him 6-7 years ago! Some can talk, some can play! Do you know anyone else I mentioned?

Zim

I know a Barry who was here at Shaw that could play pretty well. I really don't think his last name s Stahl. I checked the global and no one here at Shaw with that name. The Barry I know is a MSgt who works on the flight line somewhere.

easy hit up a guy by the name of mike wardlaw. he works over in fuels on the mxs side of the house. I shot with him almost everyday here at osan, he's a great guy and a joy to shot with.

I just looked him up and he is definitely there. What's his speed? I thought I knew pretty much every body that played here on Shaw, it's a pretty small base.

confused by the speed question. Sorry I've only been shooting a little over a year and a half.

That's him! I last spoke to Barry about 8 months ago, just after a big EXERCISE or something like that. He was talking about retirement, so maybe he did. If you check the global, look AF wide and see if he's PCS'd. This guy was about 5' 10", thin hair, fair complected, and built rock solid, not huge, just very solid and defined.

Sounds like the Barry I knw. Always "ranger rolls" his hat, even in civi's.:D Rides a motorcycle too I think.

Zim not to jack easy's thread but you know Marq, Wes and Bear and all these guys over here huh? Small world I would say!!

Good job E.....Keep practicing and one day you might play as well as roadkill and me. :D  :D . Actually I have to have at least the 7 and breaks now......

We will have to get together and practice soon.

Mike

we mainly played 8 ball over here. To me he was a fairly strong shooter, we liked to play who can leave the best safe on the table and a game would take hrs. we had special rules though. When it came to straight playing with him and his 20 dollar cue he was hard to beat unless I was on. I mainly just enjoyed shooting with him due to how good of a guy he is.

Good for you Easy. Congrats, I was never a base champ during my time in the USAF.

Below is a photo of Barry Stahl, Elmer Posadas and myself (Mike Zimmerman). This was taken at the Osan Open at the Mustang Club in May of 2003.

Barry always "ranger rolls" his hat! That's him!

I know Marq, we talk once in a while via emails! I actually sponsor the pool league over there, Zimmerman Custom Cues! I've done several cue repairs for some of the players! In fact, my wife is there right now at the 7th AF!

What a small world! And do think there are people in the US that never leave their county or even city their entire life!

Zim - that is funny I am thinking we get a S. Korea military thread going and try to get some history and funny stories... Shoot me your wife's name and I'll tell here I meet you on here..

Easy - you should definitely try to make it through Osan. I have meet some really good people here and Marq runs a good league here. Zim could attest to that.. There is absolutely no other place like it in the world.

The league actually started a few months after I left, I think, or was just getting started!

I was actually the one that started the Osan vs Seoul team tournament. We had the first one at the Geko in 2003! Some of the players still play up North! I check out both league websites on a monthly basis.

As far as my wife goes, she keeps to herself, as did I when I was there. You know how people in the military "perceive" what they see/hear and how word travels!

I do like the thread idea! Military Pool Stories! I've got several to add!

That was definitely the Barry I know. I can't find him anywhere in the global, maybe he finally retired. I had a really good win/loss record against him, but he was a real straight-shooter.

Any of you guys play ever play in the Eighth Army Tournament in Korea? Do you know if they even still have it (they did when I was at Camp Hovey back in 1997)?

On Wednesday I took the Langley AFB base champion trophy from the previous champion. My reign will be complete and terrifying!
