I think Alex needs to lay off the alcohol until the event is over. Who else thinks he is acting a little amateur?

You must not have seen much alex... he is always casual, joking around, and being a goof, even in the finals of a tournament. It's not like it affected his shooting. He did nothing wrong against ralf and made a nice runout when he got the chance. His antics have gotten him in trouble with tour officials though. But it makes him more fun to watch than a lot of pros.
Yea that is just Alex, he is a fun loving fun to be around guy. He is allways in tune at DCC or US Open, a treat to watch.--Leonard
If more players had Alex's skill and showmanship---pool would be big time on TV.

Alex has every right to celebrate. What he does after he is knocked out of a tournament is his business. It's his right to do cartwheels if he wants to.

I could not have said it any better myself. Alex is one pro who makes pool exciting Everybody loves to see Alex's demeanor at the table. I'd much rather watch Alex play than the Buckingham Guard robotic style of play employed by some players.
Alex (by his own admission) blew the WPC (or at least severely decreased his chances) in 2003 because of excessive drinking the night before the final (he said he "drank until he puked" and was hung-over)- I don't think he ever drank the day of a match, though.

I have seen Alex many, many, many times at pool tournaments in the States.
Not once -- NEVER -- did I see Alex drinking alcohol when he was in the tournament. After he gets knocked out of a tournament, I have seen him enjoy a few brewskies, but not many.
This tournament, Alex's "right-hand man," who had an interest in Alex succeeding in this event, would never let Alex ruin his chances to win by drinking alcohol.
Pool needs more players like Alex! He makes pool exciting.

The 4 semifinalists got some champagne, and people who don't know Alex could believe that he had already tasted of that champagne before the final
Even I, who have seen him in person before, thought Alex was a little over the top in his behavor, but most of the time it was just pure fun watching and hearing his comments for those 15 min after the final.

I've seen him plenty of times and I greatly appreciate his light-hearted approach. In this case I feel like he was too intoxicated to have a positive effect since he was slurring his speech and interrupting the announcements/congratulations. IMO it showed disrespect to the event and especially Dennis. Maybe this is "normal" to some of you but as I said... IMHO it was amateur.
