Can anyone recommend any decent pool rooms? Primarily just looking to keep up my practice, but if anyone wants to play or there are any tourneys during the week that would be great as well. 3 cushion tables would be a huge bonus.

Staying in the Grapevine area if that helps for location.

Thanks!

I've heard that theres a place called Diamond Billiards. Not sure where its at but its supposed to be a really nice room designed for players. Wish I could find out more info but I couldn't find anything online. I saw something about a Diamond D billiards. That might be the hall they are talking about or it might not.

I believe the Diamonds that you are referring to was the Pool Hall that Billy Incardona had an interest in at one time; however, that shut down a couple of years ago, I believe.

No pool halls in Grapevine that I am aware of. For practice, I would suggest Fox 'n Hound in Lewisville off I-35E. Lewisville is probably 15 minutes or so north of Grapevine depending on where you are at. They only have (1) 9 Foot table but have a couple of 8 Foots and a couple of 8 1/2 Foots.

For a Pool Hall you would have to go another 20 minutes North to JR Pockets. They have a bunch of 8 Foot tables and they are very well maintained.

JR Pockets has tournaments on Tuesdays (9 Ball) and Thursdays (8 Ball).

Dallas is shorthanded on really nice places, but most people I know play at The Billiard Den on Arapaho, just west of Central Exprssway (75) ...and on Wednesday days they play at CK's just north of 635 on Skillman (left side up one mile) ... I"m not sure about the 3 Cushion Billiards...you'll have to ask around....C J

Hawley's Billiards, on Montfort and Alpha, in Dallas, I believe on Tuesday nights, they have a nice tournament...(kind of a shady place though)...but it's usually a good little tournament.
You might give them a call and make sure that it's still on Tuesday.

I run a little 10 entry trnmnt monday nights at speeds on 360-just south of I-30, 8pm start . Cowboys stadium and rangers ballpark are near by
There are good 3cushion players at the Sapitos off Abrahms, in roughly
the same area. There are GREAT 3 cushion players in Dallas, check out the 3C forum. PM me and we can get together and play something!

Seems the choices are a little slim, surprised for an area like DFW. Not really looking for 8 foot tables or "shady" rooms, just looking to practice on some decent 9' tables, or play some 3 cushion, doesn't sound too promising. Maybe I'll leave the cues at home this trip...

Yes, 9 footers are slim in Texas pool halls, which is surprising.

I would still bring the cues; you may be able to find something. I agree with the other poster (CJ Wiley, I believe) regarding Billiards Den; however, that is around 40 minutes or so from Grapevine. Volcanoes is good too; however, I believe they are all 8 footers.

Yea...I'd agree with the Billiard Den too...

But if you wanted a small tourny...then Hawleys wouldn't be too bad.

I also think the Billiard Den has a saturday tournament...but I don't know when it starts.

Take the cues...if you step foot in a pool hall, you'll regret not having your tools!

Rusty's in Arlington (on South Cooper St.) has mid-week tourneys and several 9-footers. You can find plenty of action there too if you want it. It's a good 45 minute drive from Grapevine though.

Just be sure to take your cues with you when you go to the restroom ;)!!!

Scott...Being the knowledge seeker you are, you should take advantage of being in Dallas, and go have a lesson with Randyg! Whether you do or don't, have fun in Dallas!

Dallas scene didn't sound too promising, and a lot of meetings, so just left everything at home. Sucks because I really want to play, guess I'll have to get my fix when I get back home...

Thanks for all the suggestions guys!
