In My FS Threads, When I say "No Trade Offers"...

In the relatively short amount of time that I've been here selling some of my cues, I typically state "No Trade Offers Please".

What I mean when I say that is I am not interested in anyone offering one of their cues plus cash, minus cash, or even-up for the particular cue I'm selling.

I am so sure of myself when I specify "No Trade Offers Please" that it doesn't matter to me whether you have a broomstick or a Searing to trade, I am just not interested.

I have gone as far as posting this request in BOLD RED to make sure no one misses it yet I am still bombarded with the inevitable; "I know you said no trades but I was just wondering if....."

Wonder no more! If I state NO EFFING TRADES, then I beg you, please don't offer any.

In one of my recent very inexpensive cue listings I took it even one step further by saying "Anyone who offers a trade on this cue, I will hunt you down with a machete."

Consider yourselves on notice!

To comply with the forum rules, I am looking for a Tony Ryan extension if anyone happens to have one for sale. Yes, I know Seyberts has them for approx $33 new but still thought maybe I could find someone with an extra or otherwise unneeded one. :)

Thank you for your time.

Best,
Brian kc

So exactly what are you trying to say?

Put a little Floyd in your coffee.

So exactly what are you trying to say?

Trust me. I have an English Degree and there is something here that he is
looking to trade. These are the things I have to offer.

I will trade your heros for my ghosts.
my hot ashes for your trees,
my hot air for your cool breeze.
Your cold comfort for change,
Oh.. I just know that you will exchange
your walk-on part in the war
for my lead role in a cage.

I'm glad you are here Brian! 6:47 a.m. use to be so boring!

Maybe you should be more specific

Are you just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl year after year? running over the same old ground and have you found the same old fears?

I'll trade you one "TOOL" Rosetta Stoned for two "Pink Floyd" One of These Days and a little cash ;)

Personally, I do not reply to trade offers when I post NO TRADES!

It seems lIke an easy fix. And for low ball offers, I reply "No thanks".

But CMD, apparently I'm a much more sensitive soul. I can't just not respond. It wouldn't be nice. :grin-square:

And for the rest of you comedians, thanks for the laughs this morning. I really did almost lose a little coffee. Seriously!

Brian,

If you're planning on hacking someone up with a machette, don't use a whetstone, use a shop grinder. The rough edge left by the coarse gringing wheel makes a cut that is more jagged and less likely to close up, thereby decreasing the "bleed-out" time.:eek::eek:

Maniac ( reading too many Somalian warlord manuals lately )

:deadhorse:

Unfortunately he is NOT beating a dead horse. I happen to feel the same way, as a dealer you DO NOT want to trade with me because I see cues as a moveable commodity. For the same reason you don't normally want to trade in your car.

The other reason is I get some eff'ed up offers. I had a brand new James White listed for 2100 someone wants to send me 500 and two sneaky petes... are you kidding? It always seems that when you have a nice custom, someone wants you to take a Peachauer, or Schon or Joss, and say hey its limited and the value is 2000.00. (insert icon with the closed fist in a jerking motion here) It's really limited beacuse it has a LIMITED number of buyers.

Sell your own stuff and come with the cash.

I am with Brain on this 100%. No trades, means no trades.

The irony in Brians complaint is that everyone griped about information NOT being in the post, prices, specs, etc... but when you DO include something, it's ignored anyway.

I never say no trades as it's always interesting to see what will be offered up.
It's really easy to just pm with thanks anyway so I don't see what the big deal is.
