in need of long 5/16 drill bit for weight bolts

My particular saw sharpening place had some up to 18 inches i believe. I would try industrial supplies.

You might want to pick up a long Allen Head driver too.

Im a cable service tech, and use one of these on most days. These guys are right, Home Depot has em.

Going 7" deep is a bit much.
Another option is to go thicker bolt.
If you're @ 3/8" dia. now, you might be surprised at how much shorter of a bolt you'll need @ 1/2" dia.
