It's hard to believe that it's been three years since that dreadful phone call in the middle of the night. It feels like yesterday. Still miss his daily phone calls and that bellowing voice. I feel like I lost my brother on that night.
Rip my friend.

Here are a few pictures of Doug, if you have any please post them.

It was a tough time when I heard Doug had passed.

He was a great guy, a wonderful member of the pool community, a lot of fun to be around, and one who would help anyone when the need arose.

He will forever be missed.

Been that long eh. I bought my first, and still have it, Schon from Eye Doc. That would have been shortly after my Join date. Probably the first major cue that I purchased on AZ.
In the process of restoring it at the moment. Got a little side tracked. Had a couple of small dings in the fore arm. Nothing bad. Just filled them in and needs a finish on the upper. Not doing the sleeve as it is ok and I want to retain the original wrap. The wrap is worn perfect, nice and smooth.

Twas a good guy to deal with. He put my mind at ease, sending off $500 to someone that I didn't know. If ya don't mind me asking, did they ever determine what caused him to drive off the road that night. I remember that post that was made after it happened. He was retuning from some pool event if I remember. I had always enjoyed his posts and pics of cues and cases. Eye Doc With a Passion. I remember one pic of a huge piece of Python. By his swimming pool. He was going to have that made into a case I believe.

Take care Vinnie. I think all of us have been thru this at some point or another. Its a toughy to lose a best Bud. Obviously, you were and still are a good friend to him.

Wow... time sure does fly. He was for sure a cool guy and a class act. I had just talked with him on the phone a week before the accident. Still so sad......

Nice of you to remember his passing. I can't think of a more likable and enthusiastic gentleman in the cue world. Martin

Doug

I also remember that morning getting the sad phone call. Doug and Brandi were at our home just a few days prior.

I got a call from Doud one morning advising me to be on the look out for a big box from UPS. I had no idea it was the hide from a full grown giraffe. Of course, Doug wanted me to make another case. When I told him it would probably looked like a spotted dog he cracked up. We always referred to this one as the "Spotted Dog" case.

RIP Doug.

I now have that case and will have it for my lifetime.
It's very special.
Take care.
