In the works..... Biomech case

Biomech

Thanks guys. I'm definitely having fun with it. It's pretty cool to be doing something I enjoy and having it relate to pool which is also something I love. Now, if I could just find a way to make my game better! :D

Sweet case!!!! Just find a hot girl that you can whoop on the table and stare at and you'll forget about your game.

Wow

I have never seen better cases than the ones that Rex makes. I have seen most of them in person and I cannot begin to describe the detail in these relief sculptures.

Awesome, Rex!!

Tru dat.

At Valley Forge this year I was planning to steal the case he was carrying around. But Rex being young and wiry, I figured he would beat the crap out of me and take it back. So, I abandoned that plan. :sorry:

Scott :D

....Unbelievable.......

Ended up not liking the first version so I redid the panel and changed some stuff. Makes more sense now.

Gotta have a vent right?

With some colors added so far...

Cyrex,

Your tooling is so crisp, artistic, conceptually original and flawless that it almost is mind-boggling. It is a genuine pleasure to see the panel as it begins to take on an existance, and to watch the colors flow so naturally to the panel.

Again, stunning and stellar. Such a pleasure to see.

Remember, put me down for this one. I have a great spot for it! :)

Take care,

Will Prout

Hey Will I want it, but when Rex say this is YOURS, I have said well done for one of the BEST Guy in the Billard World:thumbup:
Enjoy it my Friend when you hold it in your Hands:wink:

Rex,

It's a shame that your work has to be wrapped around a case. It should be framed and sold as leather sculpture. As always your colors and technique is amazing.

What can I say, you had me at Zinzola and I have mad love for your skills.

complete and total artistic execution....mind boggling. i attended philadelphia art institute and it dominates anything i have seen in a LONG TIME

i cant wait to see this case finished......and wait till you see mine in the works.....going to be CRAZY cool....

update

Figured I'd add on a couple more pics.
Been super busy lately doing a ton of tooling on various projects so I haven't had a lot of time to work on this case. But it's coming along slowly.
I'm really excited about some upcoming projects though. :D:D:D

Dude, You are not a master, you might be THE master as far as I am concerned with this artistic tooling.

Just remember February 2012 the sequel comes out lol...

Thanks JV!
But I've got a LONG LONG LONG way to go. There are so many incredibly talented leather carvers out there to admire and I've only been doing this a short time. But I do work on projects just about everyday and I haven't gotten burnt out yet so I'm trying! I've been pretty lucky lately to get some top notch advice and pointers (from Peter Main!) which will hopefully save me some trial and error time.

I know a bunch of people have asked me to make them cases and I'm still on it so bear with me. I'm trying to progress as fast as I can so I can do the best work that I can do. As all the other casemakers will agree with, there is just SO much to try and learn and progress just doesn't happen overnight. But I do love it so I'll continue to work away and keep inspired by all the best in the world casemakers we have here on AZB.

Quit making cases. :-) That's how you can make your pool game better. I used to tell everyone that if they loved to play pool they should stay OUT of the billiards business.

Just kidding but you will have to make your playing time really count now if you want to get better.

If you do skype hit me up. I want to talk shop on a few things. my skype name is jbideas

Or if you have some other IM that you use let me know.

Thanks JV!

Cyrex, When I say that I don't mean the Ross tooling or Rusty's tooling, those guys are great at that, to me what you're doing is very different. I haven't seen anything that I would even compare to this stuff. You're not only carving, but adding the color, and making it a complete genre on its own. Great stuff for sure and its very refreshing.
