Tony "borrowed" a guys vehicle and did not return at the agreed upon time. I did not hear about the ball bat but I did see him get slapped in the face.

Before the stories get out of hand, here is what happened.

Incident #1
TW borrowed the guys truck that he rode with to the event and hocked a few things that were in it while he had it (He had the truck about overnight). TW then procedded to lock himself in a hotel room and not let his room mate in or return the keys to the truck. When TW's rode partner saw TW the next day he ***** slapped him in front of a whole crowd of people.

Incident#2 (BIG MISTAKE)
2-3 days later TW's road partner forgave all and trusted TW again.

Incident #3
Later on the 6th day TW decided to borrow the truck again along with his partners gold coins and some other stuff like Shannon's cue. TW then procedded to pawn the items, get jacked up and disapear until the 7th day.

(note: TW did not know that Shannon's 1 of a kind cue was in the truck when he borrowed it nor did TW pawn it. It was returned later.)

The last day TW's road partner had enough and when he saw TW he proceeded to beat the shit out of him with a baseball bat as a friendly reminder to not screw your friends cause you want to get jacked-up.

By friendly reminder I mean exactly that because if TW pulled this shit in my town he'd be swimm'en with da'fishes.

I believe most of this took place at the hotel and leave it at that.

Just another story that supports the reason corporate America is reluctant to sponsor pool players. That's too bad.

This has nothing to do with pool players it's about an individual that has a drug problem.

The NFL and B-Ball players have consistantly done much worse and they still have corporate America.

Anyone know anything about TW alledgedly stealing a fancy Josey cue at the Derby City Classic a few years back ???

That is a sad thing. I know that lots of people enjoy TW and wish he would put for the effort to go right.

I have to say this but over and over again these guys are taking known substance abusers on the road. It is stupid for just this reason. The guy that beat tw is more guilty for the loss then tw that can not control his addiction. To beat the guy can only lead him to jail. Additionally, the truck needs a good once over because who knows what goodies the cops may find hidden if he gets pulled over? These young guys are just not thinking! What kind of karma would it be to get pulled over and the cops kind something tw stashed in the truck! This is so upsetting and I say these things so az community does not follow these stupid moves of taking substance abusers on the road.

Is that the $7500 Josey I've seen pictures of?

Keith Josey has told me in the past that TW plays with a Josey cue, but with which one I don't know.

I talked to Keith at the U.S. Open and he said that he is sponsoring Tony & that Tony is trying to straighten up and get clean. I know that it must be a tough battle!
Keith is a great guy and I commend him for trying to help TW get straight. Don't know about the past Josey cue incident but I do know that Keith Josey just made TW a fantastic looking Josey and was displaying it at the Open.

Best to all, Joe

Lots of guys are addicted. Tony must be severely addicted to pull those kinda stunts-If he went to the hospital and someone clued them in many hospitals can get you started on detox and then into rehab before you really know it!

That's quite a new intervention technique for a friend who needs help...Ah just smack em' with a bat...What the hell is the matter with some people???

I saw the brand-new Josey cue that was made for Tony Watson at the U.S. Open, too. It is a beautiful stick for sure. I took a few pics of Tony over at the Holiday Inn. He was so very proud of this custom-made Josey cue stick. It has light blue inlays which match Tony's baby blues! BTW, Tony was straight as an arrow when I saw him at the Open this year.

Tony Watson is a very talented player. I hope all parties involved in the referenced incident have made peace.
