Two top players maneuvering around two almost frozen balls stuck next to a rail. Who wants to note the foul(s) that happened if there was a ref there? Unfortunately, some of the shots they took were blocked.

Looked to me like there were a half dozen push shots and a sideways stroke as well as the illegal lift.

I'm 16 minutes in here. Hopefully this doesn't go on for the full 2 hours.. Clowns.. LOL

You guys all missed what they were trying to do! The problem was the table. When you have spray glue build up on the slate, you can't get the cue ball to sit frozen to the rail, and that's what they were trying to do. Who ever could stick the cue ball to the rail first, would force the incoming player to have to make contact with another rail, or commit a foul, ball in hand!!

On a side note- this entire match is worth watching. Corey put on a masterful show of bar table 8 ball- I think he broke and ran something like 70 percent

For all those calling fouls during this exchange of chess, do any of you really think that Shane or Cory don't know what a foul is, really??? Either one of them would be the FIRST to call a foul, and win the chess game, and the the player that fouled would know it, and accept the defeat!!!

why didnt they just agree to do the game over. its a bad table.
Because those in charge of pool, always saying they're trying to provide the best experience for the viewers, MATCH ROOM" isn't smart enough to realize how boring this is to watch, and implementing a rule that states when 3 legal consecutive safeties have been performed by both players, the game shall be declared a draw, and started over again, same breaker!!

WPA rules (followed in large part by Matchroom) include a stalemate rule in 8-Ball, 9-Ball, 10-Ball, and 14.1. Of course, it doesn't automatically end the game (or cause a re-break) as quickly as what you suggest.

1.12 Stalemate
If the referee observes that no progress is being made towards a conclusion, he will announce
his decision, and each player will have three more turns at the table. Then, if the referee
determines that there is still no progress, he will declare a stalemate. If both players agree,
they may accept the stalemate without taking their three additional turns. The procedure for a
stalemate is specified under the rules for each game.

There goes an hour of wasted time!

and they wonder why pool cant attract viewers. between bad rules and games that are no fun to watch for casual people.

Just that segment of this match was painful- the rest was some of the best bar table 8 ball you'll ever see- particularly by Corey

but the causal watcher wouldnt get to see it as he would have turned if off by then. that's the point.

What was Shane talking about at 1:07:45? What is the definition of 1 of each? Corey made 2 solids and a stripe. So his argument is that Corey should have taken solids? I haven't heard of that one.
