I just wanted everyone to know forum member Inzombiac, who is currently serving this country, got his free Varney cue today. I just put together a little hustler made from some scraps laying around here.:D ;)
He picked the cue up today and while its nothing fancy, he thinks its the most beautiful thing he's ever seen. He's about to have a stroke wanting to leave his shift and go to the poolroom.
Thank you to all who thought as I did...he was deserving of a free cue. Now he doesn't have to play off the wall anymore. Enjoy your new cue my friend...and thank you for serving the USA!!!:)
Wow,that was very touching!! Thanks for showing love in a real way to our soldiers!!

Poor guy...

I was stationed there from Jan96-Jan99 (when not deployed) to Aco 2/7 Cav.

He seems to really enjoy being in the Army. He graduated with honors at University of Arizona and couldn't find himself in the job that he desired. So the kid entered the Army. My brother, his dad, is a 100-percent service-connected veteran, a Marine, and he is very proud of him. The Army paid off my nephew's school loans when he enlisted. He's what they call a "Spec 4" now, I think, whatever that is. His specialty is demolition.

Kevin......way to follow through, and a very nice thing to do. I hope it brings more business to you, as good things usually come to those who do good works, and I'm sure the zombiac will be crowing to the hills about his great new cue, I know I'd be tickled Sh!tless if I were in his shoes.

Inzombiac......I think we'd all like to know your impressions of the cue, how it plays, maybe a pic or 3, and the specs.. when you've had a chance to hit some balls

Nice job Kevin very commendable....I can't give you any more rep.

I think "tickled Sh!tless" is an understatement. :D
It's likely he spent all night at Fast Eddie's and will spend his morning at work writing the review :) Expect a good one!

I have been lurking on this site for many months now. I feel obligated to post how refreshing it is to have someone like Mr. Varney around. As others have said, I hope you are repayed many times over. God bless.

Spec4 is the rank (E4) which is right above PFC (Private First Class) and right below Sgt.

EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) is pretty cool... :)

4 years United States Navy

Stationed in good ol' Norfolk, Va.

1990 deployed to Desert Storm...And proud of it!!!!!

Yep, that's him. I'm worried about his choice of specialties, though! The kid is a brain, got honors throughout college, and he's going to do well in the Army.

Thanks for the clarification. We're proud as can be of him, and he's really digging his experience.

God bless the armed forces!

Thank you "DOLLFACE":o

I think those words "GIMMY A LITTLE # NOW" might just get as famous as

the good ol' "IT'S LIKE A NIGHTMARE, JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE":D

Mr. Varney,

You seem to be a very kind and generous man. Tap tap tap.. Reps for you, my friend.

Kudos

Kevin. He will never forget that cue no matter how long he plays Pool.

Jam - Why did your nephew go in as enlisted man in lieu of being an officer?

I asked my brother the same question because he certainly was eligible. He had a perfect score on his test when he did sign up. Apparently, he wanted to enlist and earn his way from the bottom up. That's just the way he is. I know he's going to do well. Every man in my family has served, and my nephew seems to have found his niche with the U.S. Army. At 6'1", 27 years old, single, blond, blue eyes, good looking, and a college graduate, he's loving it!
