IPT Jeopardizes 2006 US Open 9-Ball

Funny you picked colon irrigations as the topic of question, since I once was a dedicated enthusiast of the works of Norman Walker, a man who continued writing on natural health after he turned 100. He lived to 107 I believe. A man who had regular colonics since 30 years of age (often with the regularity you mocked) and wrote in detail about the subject.

I've had quite a few myself.

and you still went with "Calculator"????

This makes Colin "Cleanser" Colenso PERFECT!!!
You could make a lot of money with this.

lol, Barry Behrman is scum, I hope the IPT does the same thing
next year also
You really are clueless. Yo McFly, you in there?!?!? The US Open isn't about Barry, it's about the players. The worst thing that could happen for TRUE FANS of the game and the players that aren't on the IPT is for the larger tournaments to fold.

You and Jake should get together and chat... neither one of you are very bright. Maybe between the two of you, one of you can actually post something worth reading that's a little more informed.

The US open may have held some form of prestige once upon a time, not anymore.

If the IPT can guarantee the promised 100k for it's members then that's 150 players making a living playing pool, no other promoters/orgs have been
able to do this so screw em all

And

we stuck a hand up through the ground from the casket on this thread WHY?

As far as natural cures, my Grandma had a lot of those, and they all worked.
I believe I will mention Steve McQueen and Edgar Cayce here...
I definitely believe, and have for a long time, that maintaining a healthy balance between Mind, Body, and Spirit is instrumental for having a good life.
A medical doctor will be the FIRST to tell you that they don't KINOW EVERYTHING. I was on contract to a pharmeceutical company for a year, so I got a first hand look at their operations and processes. All I can say is, they pay well, don't work very hard (after coming from Aircraft field),
and need some other sort of base to test new medicines against instead of the placebo base, and the FDA needs a serious overhaul. I had a special assignment in addition to being on 2 different teams, Onocology and Cardiovascular, to do linear regression modeling for the Statisticians, they couldn't do it. Turned out, I had more math than they did.

As far as Kevin goes, if I was him, I would try to be considerate of other tournaments and tours, but I sure would not let them call my shots. Consideration of the players trying to play all major events should be given though.

IPT has already dolled out MILLIONS in prize funds, I hope they
bury all the other promoter hucksters.

There will always be smaller amateur events for everyone else.

"Amazingly, I am a pool promoter also. Come to St. Louis & my 17 yr old little friend will give you and your IPT Pro Player glory the 8 and 10% of your money back."......watchez, good promoter, if yr give the 8, yve lost the game cause they play eightball'

OMG, a civil war within the pool community! :(

This sucks that it puts some people in the position to have to pick sides.

I don't like hearing this news!

I will be staying tuned to this thread to hear any thoughts!

Amen NUFF Said....;)

Also I see the IPT as maybe the New Pool Event/Orginization offering BIG BUCKS to players, and the U.S. 9 Ball Championship as the Old Game.

Players now have a Choice as do to what event they wish, and what event will offer them the LARGEST PAY CHECK.

It to me is kind of complaining about the Buggy Whip Maker, who is worried he will sell not WHIPS to people because of the Ford Model T don't need no Buggy Whip.

Think there are enought player for both events, plus many some lesser player will be able to take money home from the U.S. 9 Ball Event?

I can respect that, Colin, but the FDA has deemed his book as ridiculous. The FCC has banned him because he has repeatedly deceived the public with his products. He lied about Dr. Ley's comments. He never made them. He was deceased long before Kevin wrote Natural Cures. Kevin has failed to produce any scientific proof, nor can he site any studies that actually existed. When confronted about his claims he backpedals and looks very silly - like he did during the interview conducted by ABC where he had no explanation about the statement made by the University of Calgary. He claims his lack of medical training is what makes him an expert in this field. The only logical explanation is that Kevin never thought anyone would go out and verify his claims or his referenced "studies". He banks on the idea that he believes that there are more dumb people out there than smart people. The same thing I did when I was out on the road trying to make money (as Jake pointed out) so I know a huckster when I see one".

I don't think that there are many intellligent people that question the fact that various natural herbs, foods and supplements are a source of valuable preventative and curative medical treatment. After all, even the base ingredient of most pharmacutical drugs are usually plants found in rain forests and other obscure places. Also, acupuncture and ancient Chineese medicine utilize many proven nontraditional cures. Even Aboriginal and American Indians practiced a similiar style of medicine, so the principle itself is not being challenged.

What is being challenged is whether KT is a being an honest, ethical promotor of this principle or simply a heartless predator preying on the most needy and helpless of prey, the sick and infirmed. First of all, he has no educational foundation in this discipline. He is neither a nutritionalist, nor does he have a medical background, even as a holistic practicioner.

In fact, in 1998 KT was reportedly fined roughly $1.6M by the FTC for making several false informercial claims including one for the stopping and reversing of "hair loss", and a "reading system" that falsely claimed that a brain damaged girl went from reading three words per minute to 600 words per minute while working with her "on coffee breaks", as well as an "addiction breaking" system and a "memory system" that worked on low IQ and mentally challenged persons, all the HOT BUTTONS, and was banned from continuing making those claims. Then in 2004 he was again on TV making his absurd coral calcium claims of being able to cure cancer, heart and other diseases along with another product, "biotape", which was a strip of tape that was claimed to stop severe pain, both products were accused of having no basis in fact whatsoever. He was fined $2M and signed a consent order agreeing not to engage in making or producing any infomercials for any health claim, of course in the consent decree he admitted to no wrongdoing. Before these run in's over infomercials were two felony convictions and Federal prison time, one for credit card fraud and one for operating an illegal pryamid style marketing organization.

So now KT has reinvented himself as an "consumer advocate", and is able to market books, under the first amendment's freedom of speech provision. Of course his books are reportedly void of much information, but refer it's readers to his website where they are sold his wonderful products. It is also claimed that most people also get automaticly enrolled in his monthly newsletter without their knowledge and have a pretty rough and slow time getting it cancelled and stopping the billing. At the website www.ripoffreport.com you can search Kevin Trudeau's name and view hundreds of these complaints.

So, while I definitely agree with the concept and principal of of being able to prevent and possibly cure many medical conditions through natural methods, I don't think that KT and his Natural Cures is necessarily the best venue to explore them. In fact, I know not.

You must be hallucinating if you think the IPT will be around next year....

All that matters right now is that it will still be here Sep 11th.

After that then all that will matter will be that it will still be here Oct 30th.

After that then all that will matter will be that it will still be here Dec 4th

After that then all that will matter will be that it will still be here Dec 18th.

After that, well who cares? How many of us know that we will still be here in 2007?

The IPT could very much "fold" before the September 11 event. I really don't believe they will make it by the end of this year.....

Dr Dis,

Did you ever hear of goals? Like setting goals?

There are short term goals and there are long term goals.

A long term goal for the IPT is the KOTH at the end of the 2007 season.

Short term goal is each tournament and paying out the winners.

They have achieved many short term goals and have a stunning resume of completing many tournaments (yes qualifiers are tournaments) all leading to the KOTH at the end of 2007.

What is more important, they have not failed in any of their short term goals.

Jake
