IPT, Long Time No Hear!

It's been a couple of weeks since we heard from KT.

In previous messages we were told that we'd soon be hearing about the rescheduled dates and other developments.

We also heard sincere apologies about the lack of communications.

The best remedy for this is to improve communcations, not to slip further into silence mode.

This is not the ideal forum to place such a request, but I'm left with little choice, having been ignored in past email communications.

Players will support efforts by the IPT to get the business on track and to keep players informed of developments.

Please update us on the progress that has been speculated about in previous email communications.

I think there are 2 obvious answers:

1) This is standard operating procedure for the IPT, based on their past history. Has everyone forgotten the months of silence before the scheduling of their 2006 events? Even back then events were being postponed with no good reason. Given the extremely vertical nature of the IPT pretty much no-one except KT really knows what, if anything, the IPT is doing right now.

2) They have nothing good to report and little hope of ever recovering. They are running on a shoe-string budget and everyone, both in the industry and outside it, can sense this and are avoiding them. Without the glitz of a big-budget production (Which was KT's original public business plan to make Pool an attractive consumer item like Poker, putting aside for a moment the incredible super-secret Ho/Gambling plan) they have very little to offer either players, venues, sponsors or television networks.

i would sure like to hear a report on how KT is living these days..like in a mansion? eating in fine restaurants? in hiding ? ect.ect. someone has to be near where he is to where they could report on his present lifestyle.

I think you just about sumed it up Jay. Just like the old hard nosed salesman, if they couldn't sell ya, they just wore you out.

You have conttributed to everyone's break technique, but have not discussed the choice of cues. Phenolic vs hard leather? Also, the specs on the cheaper Fury b/j cue appear to be identical to the Sledgehammer & other expensive phenolic cues. Is there a distinction other than price?

Hi Marv,
It would probably be best to start this kind of question as a new thread in the main section.

But let me first say that I think many posters here know much more than me about the equipment.

About my only opinion is that I'd prefer a stiff shaft and a cue around 19-20z. Hard leather (such as buffalo) tip or phenolic. I think the equipment could add a little extra speed and or control, but not a bunch. Good technique and practice are the main factors.

Thanks. It sounds like the proverbial broom handle with a tip would suffice with correct technique. I don't want to abuse my Universal shaft breaking especially since I need to break numerous times to get the technique. I have been punishing the house cues & improvement is slow but steady.
