IPT Orlando

bought tix today

Just got my tickets this morning. Don't forget to bring a Sharpie pen for all the autographs. When will we be able to see almost all of the 17 living Hall of Famers play at once again? Never. The trip from Houston to Orlando is almost 1000 miles. ROAD TRIP! hehe

I got my ticket this morning now I have to figure out how to get to the convention center.
Not sure which day or days I will be going.

I am curious to know about the ticketing process. Was it easy? Do you know how many seats were available? What constituted VIP seating? Were the phone lines busy at 10am? In our email, it said that hundreds were turned away at the door at the LJJ/Sigel event.

I'll be there starting Wednesday night.

See the "IPT: anyone planning on watching" thread for others.

I called this morning - 847-850-2013 - from their website.

I didn't get a busy signal but I had to let it ring a long time. Hung up the first time and got thru the second time. The person was in Wheeling Illinois. And he did say that cameras would be okay.

I only got General Admission for the first three days and ticket will be at will call. Not sure which day or days I will be going there. It is a 75 mile drive for me.

I have never been there so I have no idea what the seating will be like. I will most likely regret not getting the VIP seats but I like to move around to watch the different matches.

I'll be there. I am disappointed and encouraged that the VIP finals tickets sold out so quickly. Disappointed that I didn't get a chance to buy (cuz I was on a business trip), but certainly encouraged at the interest to shell out $75 for a finals match only.

Does anyone know yet ...

If future IPT events will be held in Orlando too, or if
they will be held at various locations in the country?

I just took another look at the Orange County Convention Center's website. There is nothing about the IPT event listed in their calender of events. Has anyone confirmed that the location is actually reserved?

I emailed them about that, and they responded:

"I did some more research and found that your dates are correct. The "King of the Hill" is at the OCCC on those dates. They are not listed on the website because all paper work has not been completed. Once that happens, it will go on the website."

macguy previously posted:
"I just called a few minutes ago to check and they are still just penciled in, no contract has been signed as of today. It will appear on the calendar once something is signed according to the person I spoke to."

I sure hope that the venue is solid, because I've made plans to be there!

I wish you the best. I live thirty minutes from the convention center, but can't bring myself to cough up the cash for a ticket until I know the location is secure. If the event is confirmed through the convention center before it sells out, I will be there.

The location is solid. The convention center was trying to get us more space, and to do so suggested we hold off signing until they were sure one way or another of any changes to our space. The space issue has been solved and the contract will be in place most likely tomorrow. If you want to contact me privately I would be happy to give you the email of the person at the convention center who will assure you that the venue is ours. I would hate for you to miss the event over $35 paranoia :)

International Pool ********** Well it finally made it to the Orange County Convention Center schedule.

All along I thought this was a Pool (Billiard) event? But I see now this really the King of the Hot Tub event. I can see it now Mike Siegel and Buddy Hall in the final hot tub.
This can be a positive. Competitive pool will be introduced to people who otherwise wouldn't know about it. Vendors there for the IPT will get new business, also.

When I emailed them, that was the first answer they gave me, the International Pool and Spa Expo in early November! That's why their answer to me that I posted reads a little weird, staring out with "I did some more research and found that your dates are correct..." They had initially answered me that the Pool and Spa event was early November.

If Deno says it's solid, then I believe it's solid. :)

This sure does say a lot for the fan attraction that Mike Sigel has. And Kevin Trudeau also. I suspect that many VIPs at the final match will be high profile celebrities.

I wonder what the seating arrangements will look like. I was watching a table tennis match on ESPN from Mohegan Sun and the bleacher seats looked really nice. They appeared to be individual cushioned seats almost like theater seats.

Call it what ever makes you feel better, but this event is a month away, tickets are being sold, and the contract on the location hasn't been signed yet.
