IPT Slow To Pay

OOOohh, OOOohh, dat smell. Can't ya smell dat smell!!!!

It has been my experience that this is the way most millionaires work it. I repaired an AC for a large medical building in VA owned by several millionaire doctors. Wouldn't pay me. When it broke down again, they called me again. I said no way. They said they would pay me what was owed and the new bill when I finished. Some dumbass turned the power off to the fire alarm system which was interlocked with the AC. I saw it as soon as I walked in. SO I go up on the roof, fire up a big fat doobie. Open the maching and sit on my ass for a couple of hours. On the way back down, I stop by the switchgear room and turn the breaker back on and wala. Cooling. Charged em another $600 and got paid for everything.
You Should Never Try and Beat the Beater!!!!

I have known about this for a while, however despite what some people may think I dodnt want to say anything, I am hoping it is an administrative error as I know how this type of thing can get overblown, I hope the IPT reallly does sort it out and succeed!

Since the pool community has been screwed over so many times by people making big promises, I would think that one of KT's top priorities would be to maintain the trust of everyone by, among other things, paying debts in a timely matter. The players all had their money in "on time" and they all showed up for the qualifiers "on time". Where's the money?

At this point, and I hope I'm wrong, what I see is a select bunch of people who stand to make a good amount of money before this all goes away. Spectators will most likely get to see some great pool played for amounts that we've never seen before in this sport. Then, when the people who WANT to be on the tour run out of money and/or stake-horses trying to get out there ... who knows? Based on the number of qualifiers and the entry fees for those qualifiers, part of the expected revenue is obviously coming from the players themselves (if not, why bother baiting players into the $1000 entry fee? Why not just make it $500 if the qualifier money isn't intended to make a profit?). When/if that stream of revenue starts to slow down, will it affect the tour? If the tour isn't making money in other ways, I suspect so. Back to the main point here though, if they don't pay their debts in a timely manner, it's only going to make people hesitant to play in their plethora of qualifiers.

Jake,

Cliff ran seven racks in Boston and made the Eight on the break. Total win was listed as $5,500.

Then he, or you, should be paid. You are sure that he hasn't received the check right?

What arrangements did they make for paying the people who did run racks?
Did they announce how and when the parments would be made.?

Do you know if the other players have received their checks? The ones in the previous qualifiers?

I take it you, or Cliff, did e-mail the IPT Office directly.

I believe I heard in his latest CD that he encourages people with any complaints to e-mail them directly. I certainly would take him up on that.

This should answer your question. It's in the original post that he started the thread with.

On March 11th, I contacted Lindsay again and was told accounting was sending out the checks. This past week I contacted her again and Deno called me back. He told me about a myriad of problems with personnel, accounting procedures, etc. He said the check would be going out last Friday or this Monday. Maybe it will at last come this week. I don't know.

This wkend will be 3 weeks since Jay contacted them. I assume the checks will be coming out of the Chicago area.... the pony express could've had it to Jay in CA within 3 weeks. :p

I'm in utter amazement at this whole fiasco. I sell stuff on Amazon.com and a couple of weeks ago, I sold a magazine, had it laid out for shipping, and my daughter's dog came in the room and proceeded to ceremoniously pee all over the magazine. I was now in the position of having sold an item I did not have (in the condition I had advertised). I went online, found the same magazine (in better condition and twice the price I had listed mine for), bought it and had it drop shipped to my customer. I lost money on the deal, but...I honored my commitment as a seller, got good feedback from the customer, and look at it as just another baby bump in life's road. Perhaps the IPT leadership could take a lesson from Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon.com (started in his garage in 1994), on the critical importance of customer service and delivering what you promise. I am no longer in a "wait and see" mode as far as the IPT goes...I've seen, and it's ugly.

sounds like a common bankruptcy story where employees and debtors are owed money but never see it until years of trial and then the order of repayments. Much like enron only on a smaller scale.

Suffice to say that we made all the proper arrangements. I will PM you Jake.

LOL Jay don't bother with the PM. In Jakes world KT can do no wrong and anything associated with KT can do no wrong.

I'm going to send Jake a pair of scissors so that he can cut out eye holes in KT's butt cheeks....that way he'll be able to see a little more clearly.

Directional Signals would be appreciated.

In fact I fixed a guys turn signals on his GMC truck today and while doing it I was thinking of Timberly.

Being a former Chicagoan everyone should keep in mind that the Post Office there is loaded with registered Democrats. I am in awe that any mail out of Chicago reaches its destination.

Every month I receive a newsletter from a friend and it takes a week to get here. Last month it only took three days. A record. Must be time for an election.

Florida 51 - Mason 32 11:24 to go

Yeah, that really sucks!:(

However, 4:20 to go, and it's now Florida 64 and Mason 55. 4:20 is a very, very long time!:D

Of course you thought of me... it's no secret that I'm a redneck and we all know that rednecks and pick up trucks go hand in hand.

LOL. Now I'm onward bound to baseball. :D

Out of all the sports audio, I really enjoy listening to baseball commentators. There's something about the background sounds, the tension felt between pitches when bases are loaded. Baseball purist Jon Miller is a fine example.

Baseball season is here again! Best time of the year, IMHO! :)

JAM [Washington Nationals all the way!] :D

TAP TAP TAP

I love baseball season. Back in the 90's when the Braves were doing so well I would take opening day off of work so that I didn't miss the Braves play. If you lived in SC, the closest team was the Braves and after suffering through the horrendous 80's when they couldn't buy a game, I didn't want to miss a single game when they were winning! :p

Baseball

Interesting which way this thread is going. Are these people in denial?
