I found a 9 ft. Golden west table for sale on line fairly cheap. The guy I'm buy ing it from had it in a house he just bought. From the pics it look pretty solid. Just wanted peoples opinion. Thanks

You may want to enter this thread in the "Talk to a Mechanic" forum. Those guys know their stuff. I've never played on a Golden West table so I can't help you. As is the case in most deals, a lot would depend on price and condition.

If all I could afford was a piece of plywood with some cloth stapled to it, then I would buy that over not having anything.

If it is a good deal then buy it. If you can afford a gold crown or diamond, they are better tables.

You might try a search...some time back Glen "King Cobra", a mechanic, had a thread about Golden West. If I recall correctly, he was not pleased with the table's construction. I'm putting this mildly. ;)

Check your local Craigslist for tables in the $ range he is asking and see what is out there

I personally....would never own one...no matter which model it is;)

Isn'r GW the people you had trouble with on that girls table, the one that lived close to the factory?

I remember that thread. Glen had to pretty much bang on the Golden West folks skulls to get them to help the girl out as a result of their crappy parts, including a bad slate, IIRC.

It was the pink table, right?

best,
brian kc

Yep, that was Katie Girl's table...and all Golden West wanted to do was tell me I didn't know what I was taking about...and leave her hanging. They didn't know me to well before that...but they won't forget me now!
