Is Chalk Shark out of business?

The product seems to be out of stock everywhere, and has been for a while. I tried going to their website to see if I could order it direct, and it seems to not be working too. Anyone know what's going on? It seems about the best magnetic chalk holder on the market so it would be a shame if it went away.

I hope not, i have been using their chalker for a year or so, love it. Best chalker ever.

Contact accu-stats

I purchased a couple at the derby.
They were set up with the accu-stats crew.

Website is down....
pooldawg lists as out of stock....

maybe you are correct that they are out of business.

I sent select billiards an e-mail. We'll see what they say. I guess I can just make my own if I really want to.

The Chalk Shark and Mako Bridge are now Kamui products. Rebranded and price increase. I saw them yesterday at Super Billiards Expo in PA.

Thanks for the update ---- do you know the new name of the Chalk Shark (if that was rebranded as well) and contact info --- best chalk holder there is and I'll order a few to have extras

Thank you!

Price increase...seriously? More than $40 for a chalk holder? LOL. I was holding off but I'll just make my own.

I hear you on the price! What really sold me a few years ago is that I've tried (and still have in the "used" drawer) three others and not one came close to performing flawlessly like the Shark. It holds with perfect strength through any shirt and yet releases easy with the right motion. No "kind of works under the right conditions". It always works. That is worth $40 easy. If it were $15, I'd be giving these away left and right so I could be a good Santa

At what price range would you buy this product?

PoolDawg was selling them for $37.50, I think. That's about my limit, and I'd wait until I had a $100 order so that I could get free shipping. Believe me, I build things for a living so I well understand and appreciate that you have to make money, and I can appreciate a well designed and built product, but at some point it just becomes worth it to spend an hour making one myself. I think the list price on them was already around $45 or $50. More than that, even if it's the best, most perfect chalk holder possible, the price just seems way out of whack with what it's actually doing.

Maybe I'd feel differently if I were using a $30 cube of chalk, but I use Masters...about $.15 each if you buy by the gross.

I saw this product at SBX. It was very cool and I was very interested. Kamui was selling them for $50 each. I really wanted one as I thought it was a very cool & useful chalk holder. However this price is way too high (which I told them). In my opinion, they are pricing this way out of the market. I love pool gadgets and I do use Kamui $30 chalk and I would not part with $50 for this product. Just outrageous price (coming from a guy who has spent many dollars on pool gadgets). There are plenty of alternatives in this space for $15 range that are good enough for me. I would pay maybe $25 for this product.

Try the Porper Quickdraw

I considered a Chalk Shark a few months ago, but the price put me off and they were extremely hard to find. I finally settled on a Porper Quickdraw and that was a really good choice:

MUCH cheaper and very functional. Clips onto pocket or belt. Holds securely. Never looking around on the floor anymore to see where my chalk went. Slips on & off the holder very easily. I can't think of any improvements.

Next time you should make this post in the Chalkshark thread in the Cue Accessories category...too many duplicate threads that should be combined.

Anyway here's John's contact information from my Chalkshark review post in the Cue Accessory category.

If what you guys are saying is true, that would make a lot of sense why Kamui posted this photo up on their fanpage.

It's the exact same thing but with a Kamui logo slapped on to it and a price increase.

I'd also like to add, it does make a lot of sense now but I believe Kamui is releasing their branded Mako bridge as well.
