IS IT EASIER TO GO FROM GOLD CROWN TO DIAMOND TABLE OR VICE VERSA ??????

I've never hit a ball on a diamond but I have played on Murreys, Gandys, AMFs, and assorted over shimmed 9 footers. The switch to the standard bowling alley GC is a very daunting one indeed. After only a few minutes, I lose interest in aiming and within a half hour, precision pool.

I'll check again, but I thought it said "pro cut" and "league cut" on the website, but didnt say dimensions.

Don't mention 4 1/4" of 4 1/8" either, as they're custom orders.
Yep. I thought I seen it. But cant find measurements anywhere. I thought was it odd

ahahahahahahahhaha, Let me be the first to tell you: YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO PLAY POOL TO SWITCH BETWEEN THE TWO!!!! All the lessons in the world won't change that! LOL <---- SEE WHAT I DID THERE :)

Transitioning between a Brunswick or a Diamond, it really has nothing at all to do with the table because a good player can play on any table and do well. Pro Golfer's make it happen in different conditions all the time! :)

I find the Diamond tables tend to bank/kick short, have deeper shelves, and often tighter pockets. The pockets don’t have to be tighter but I find the people that buy the Diamonds I encounter tend to favor tighter pockets in their purchases.

The rails make it so you have to have an adjustment in mind to get them to play “on system”. But GC tend to naturally play on system. You have to be fairly adept at kicking/banking to get the difference. When you do, you should be able to easily move between the two. On that front they are equal.

But the deeper shelves and often tighter pockets make ball pocketing harder on Diamonds. I think going from a Diamond to GC is easier in that respect.

I have an A E Schmidt with deep shelves like a diamond. When I got to a local pool hall with gold crowns those pockets are far easier. It's like changing the difficulty level on a video game. The only downside is it's also easier for your opponent.

In the movie HEART BREAK RIDGE Clint Eastwood play Gunny Highway.

If that movie was A Pool Movie, he would say the same thing differently.

Table brand, condition, cloth, chalk don’t mean shit, your fu****g Pool players, IMPROVISE, ADAPT, and OVERCOME.

My preference is Gold Crowns, but a Valley Bar Boc is better then no table.

No I have both in our community room, DIAMONDS SUCK!!!

IMHO.🧐
Congratulations, someone has to be in hack status with no desire to ever improve. There’s nothing wrong with that, just like many league players that have been playing pool for 30 years and they’re still C and D players. The world still goes around and people play pool, life is good.

I am actually getting diamond slate cut with brunswick bolt pattern! slate shelf and pocket dimensions of a Diamond on gc anny or centennial!
We are calling it Procut pocket and slate. You can have the exact dimensions. Even Artemis cushions if a customer wants it.....

Man why the hell would someone want to ruin a GC like that. To each his own. I can’t imagine there would be enough customers to even make this idea worthwhile. It doesn’t make sense from a table standpoint or a business standpoint.

Well seeing that 3 major table manufacturers that are actually used in tournaments BESIDES Brunswick, it is actually a very common request, but, with out the slate being diamond dimensions , its not even close to the same thing, The price of the Diamond going up has made for more requests, enough for me to try it out and ALREADY SOLD ONE!

I love a Gold Crown, but, people in pool like the diamond pocket, proof: Predator and Rasson both copied the Diamond pocket. Not here to argue, I am posting my professional opinion about what I know from inquiries about this EXACT TOPIC. There are a lot more people who want this on a GC than you think. I know and you guess.

Also, there is a slate manufacturer 20 mins from me that is cutting the slate! Super cost effective ! :)

Actually you are guessing as well until you have the money in your hand from a paying customer. Then you can start the count. Tire kickers aplenty. They count for zero.

I thought RKC (its possible it was someone else) mentioned that Diamond pocket shelves went thru a couple of dimension changes and that they are now shallower than they originally were. ????
