So what can a PPV streamer do to show us $100,000.00 means 100k and not anything less? At this point I believe what they advertise as much as I believe Barry saying, " the checks in the mail". Johnnyt

So over 90% of matches run as advertised and now you don't believe any of them?? SVB vs Dennis is still 100k in the middle (50 apiece).

Does it really matter?

If they put on a good performance, who cares if they play for $100k, or for who gets to eat the last of the Cheerios?

High stakes events get noticed, whether the stakes are real or not.. In fact, if the general public believes that they have a chance to make a serious amount of money, by playing a few games of pool, this sport will explode. Eventually, the money will become real.

As they say there are many ways to skin the cat.
Few possible scenarios

1) They can borrow $100K from someone and literally place $100K cash for all to see before they start
After that they can cart the $100K out the back door and pay back to lender they borrow from .
And the actual money could be just $100 in middle . Loser slips $50 to winner after match

2) $100K is wire transferred by a lender into winner's account . Receipt / screenshot of transfer is shown to all
Next minute, the money is transferred out back to lender's bank account
Actual money in middle $100 is slipped to winner after match

I am just speculating of course .

Truth in advertising

I agree with Johnnyt and all the previous threads and posters:

IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE!!!!

All you have is your word and your ethics. By intentionally misleading the public (for PPV or any reason) is fraud. It will ruin this type of format. What is to gained?

CSI has had some exhibition matches in conjunction with our nationals (Ko vs SVB plus others) - but it was clearly stated. And there ended up being a substantial amount being bet on the side.

I was affiliated with TAR. We never played these type of games - because it is dishonest. I don't know about you, but it'll make a difference to me on how I respect a player if he par takes in any misleading matches.

BTW - John Mars often puts SVB in these type of matches. If he is involved, it is absolutely 100% straight.

That's my thoughts on this stuff. I know I don't like the way it looks, feels, or smells. And if it's 'no big deal' - then let the world know they are playing for less. It's the right thing to do.

Put on a $100,000 in the middle PPV. and stake both players then take out your 50 to 60% for staking. If you take out 50% the only real amount being wagered is $25,000. Still a nice payout but it is not the same as if each player is putting up thier own money, and not many do.

Evil Knievel once said that he will play against anyone in any type of game or challenge for one million as long as it is their own money and he feels he can win because of the pressure. I think the other part of that challenge though is how many at that time had a million dollars to put up?

How much do you want to play for is how much your playing for not the combined total
So their playing for 50k

Sure, what's a little fraud between friends.

Frankly, it would be cheaper to pay me $100k versus how much you would need to bribe me with to collude on defrauding people.

Thank you kindly.
