Is Justin Bergman considered the top young player in the U.S at this time? I don't watch much steaming lately and trying to ween myself off AZB, and play more pool, so there might be someone ahead of him. Justin seems like he has it all. Plays both 7' and 9' tables very well and plays all games. He seems to play the same in tournaments as he does gambling . I like his game and attitude a lot. I haven't seen him dog anything either Johnnyt

The kid can flat out play and he knows how to win should be a lock for the Mosconi Cup IMO

He's 26 years old. SVB is 30 years old. Define "young".

I would say Skylar Woodward is the best "young" player right now.

I could not agree more. Skylar is a phenom. Only one I see in US who might be king of the hill in the next 5 years. Crazy potential.

He might be the second best all around american player .I wish there were more videos of him on a big table. Hopefully he passes through NY one day.

I tend to go by the money boards and based on thatI thought he might be overrated a bit.
but I may have to re-evaluate. Winning smokin' aces was pretty huge.
And having just won DCC 1p, it seems like he's getting better and better.

At the risk of sounding like a hater, it looks like the only times he's won big is 1p and barbox.
Other than that ring game in 2008 he's never won more than 1,500 playing any sort of
9b or 10b event. I think to be considered one of the best all-around players, you gotta be able
to win majors in those games. Otherwise he's just another "specialist" like frosty or matlock.

I would want someone with big 9b wins on the mosconi cup, playing great 1p isn't the same.

Bergman won the Chuck markulis open at hardtimes on big table with a killer field beat Calo Biado in the finals dont know why that is not listed in his wins

Sounds like we're omitting foreigners. Carlo Biado and Ko Pin Yi are, I'd suggest the two best young players in the world.

If the topic is "best American player under 30" the two best are Dechaine and Bergman, but as some have noted, Skylar is coming fast. Don't leave Justin Hall out of the conversation, either. He is one fine player.

Carlo Biado is 30 years old.
Ko Pin Yi is 24 years old.

If SVB isn't considered the #1 young player, then Carlo would be out of the races as well.

I think Bergman is a no brainer for the mosconi cup team.

He started his winning streak with the 9 ball at the Chuck Markulis Memorial at Hard Times in February. A $3,000 payday, some of the other players in the tournament were Biado, Appleton, Kiamco, SVB, Deuel, Morris, Saez, Mika and Kang.

If Bergman is 26 I believe that is the same age as Mike Dechaine. As much as I might not like MD I am sorry I would put my money on Dechaine all day any day on the 9 footer.
