Yes and no. You can jump but not with a jump cue
They make cues that are regular length that weigh about the same as a jump cue to make it legal for this reason.

Jump cue, I didin't even know you can use a regular cue in APA ? I kid, I kid... take it easy on me rubadub![]()
Just curious after seeing you post a few caustic remarks about APA and APA players?
APA players are numerous, they buy cues, tables, and other pool related equipment. They follow professional tournaments and in general, through sheer numbers, support the hell out of pool, pool rooms, and bars with pool tables. Why the hate? Do you believe the pool community would be better off in some way without us poor to mediocre players? And does hating on APA and APA players advance the game in some way I don't understand?

Yes you can jump but not with the short cue. Also you cannot switch cues mid rack to jump with your break cue. Whichever cue you use for your first shot after the break is the cue you must use to finish the rack.
So you mean to tell me when I break with my break cue with a phelonic tip I have to finish the game with it?? Pift!!!! I would love it if somebody tired to call me on that
Didn't we go through this all about a month or two or three ago? Then the ridiculous question came up about "What if my regular playing cue is a jump cue?" Geeze, that thread went on for a few weeks if I'm remembering correctly. C'mon now, lets' don't be silly.
