When it comes to grammar I usually write in what I call conversational english, the same as the way I talked around the water cooler at work. In professional correspondence I can kick it up up into a couple years of college or so, and do. I used to check the grade level of my posts now and then just for grins. Seventh to tenth grade level is typical. Most denizens of pool halls can understand my posts just fine and I prefer the way they read compared to trying to write like a college professor.

Based on price knockers' and shallow thinkers' opinions, if you ask any more than $20 for it you're a greedy capitalistic scoundrel. (Apparently the time it takes you to list the item, deal with tire kickers, package it, ship it, and absorb any losses due to potential scams is only worth about a dollar.)
I completely understand that English isn't everyone's first language. And I would never bang on someone simply for bad grammar or spelling because, the last time I checked, none of us are posting on here to defend our Doctorates. But the post in question was clearly made in an attempt to bash a respected member of this community for no good reason. So he gets what he gets.

The importance one attributes to his subject is often reflected in the quality of expression. It is analogous to pool -- some can, some can't, but a practiced eye can usually discern the difference. Relax, some folks just think and write funny. Folks reach different levels in school, and the quality of education varies. Some jobs emphasize writing ability while others don't. If a guy is trying/doing his best, it's enough for me.
