Is removing your glove a shark move?

I think a lot of people have put way too much thought in this. Player at the table is the player at the table. Player in his chair is the player in his chair. Both do what u want.
Oh so you're good with getting sharked? I'm calling bullshit. Easy to say til someone does it to you. Props to you oh Man of Granite.

Where I play, all the elite players just go and sit down at a particular chair and don't say a peep in between their own shots. They have some class, they have learned, the sharking is for players who aren't that good or have a lot of respect for the game. We have a well-known sharker in our pool hall that just can't keep his mouth shut in between turns, yapping continuously and with intentions to disturb his opponent. People don't respect that, and shy away from him in open play and even in friendship possibilities, because he is such a shorker. In other words he is disrespected.

Wow, you seem to have taken my comment in personally lol. Personally I just try to stay focused on the table and I think I do a decent job of doing that. I definitely never look at or wonder what my opponent is doing.. sorry if that bothers you

I understand what you are saying, but I believe anybody can be shocked under certain conditions. When I see accomplished players playing they are respected for their lack of sharking, and respected for their tactfulness of keeping their mouths shut and not sharking.

And my comments are under the OPs description of someone taking off a glove, or someone unscrewing a cue. If that bothers you, I personally think that’s a personal issue that you need to get over. now someone yelling things or making crazy movements or noises while you’re shooting is a completely different story.

How about: I was in a weekly 9-ball tournament. The nine ball was on the foot rail and I had a tricky cut -- maybe 80-90%. My opponent came up to the table, got the triangle, and stood there directly in the line of my shot with the triangle in his hands waiting for me to shoot. And this was a player who could put a 4-pack on you.

That’s just rude and disrespectful. If I ever do that, I’m basically conceding whether you make it or miss it.

I would have offered my hand and congratulated him on a good match because clearly he is conceding.

Whatever dude. Glad to see players out there are so classy. If i'm the TD he's done. Have a little class, there are plenty of ways to remove your glove without it being a shark move. Based on the op's telling it sounds like a pure nit move to me. Reminds me of the asswipes that rattle keys/coins when someone else is putting. Should it bother you? Probably not but that doesn't make it acceptable.
If the glove removing opponent is clearly sharking that's when you walk over with your hand out for a handshake and you congratulate him on a good game/match. i like to think that that stuff doesn't bother me that bad from playing in bars so much, there's always people walking past the table including non pool players who will run their down the rail as they walk by and you are ready to pull the trigger, screaming at the TV about a football game, playing with their equipment etc.... Had 1 guy on my team that would stand up mid shot because someone 30 feet away moved, just some bar patron going to drop the kids off at the pool🤣, not even there for billiards, you cant expect the world to freeze because you are getting ready to pull the trigger.

please,, you guys talk about sharking. thats nothing and perfectly okay to do, if you dont like it wait till he is done.

if he is sitting in his chair or away from the table nothing is sharking. go play a statue if you want no movement.
