Is Shaw the best player on American soil

Given his big finishes of late I think he's the best player residing in the USA

Is Jayson Shaw an American citizen? Is he currently a permanent resident of the USA? Just curious, because if he is not, then what is the point of the question (if he will eventually have to go back home to live in Scotland)? I thought that I read that he will be on the next European Mosconi Cup team, so I assume he is not an American citizen.

Has he won the US Open 9 ball championship yet, even once?

Yeah, I think that Shane Van Boening has earned the right to be called the best player in the USA (and maybe even the best American player who ever lived, and probably someday, the strongest American tournament player of all time). He has the record of the most US Open wins, right? Before his pool career is over, he may have won more major pool titles then any other pool player ever. Only time will tell.

I don't like Jayson. I think he's an arrogant ass. But I'm pretty sure that if he isn't a citizen already, his path to citizenship is a rather easy one. He married an American and has an American daughter.

I wonder if Darren applied for american citizenship? He married an american(asian heritage) girl also. I've heard numerous times Shaw mentioning that hes working on his american citizenship.

Maybe next year for the MC cup, we'll have both on team USA. haha.

American soil????

The question is rather or not he is the BEST PLAYER ON AMERICAN SOIL?????
Not rather or not he is american????

SVB or Shaw, that's the question.

I understood "on American soil" fully well. I was answering another poster's question about whether he was a citizen. You're barking up the wrong tree Queen T.

Yeah, it was my bad, but I thought it was kind of a silly question, if asking about a player that is not currently a US citizen. Are there not many international players that reside in the US (at least part of the year) that are not citizens? Sorry for going off the original topic (question).

1. Yeah he has a green card.
2. At the moment he's the hottest player in the world IMO.

If Shaw becomes an American Citizen, he will have dual citizenship, and I'd bet anything he'd still choose to represent his home country in pool events.

Shane vs Shaw, I give the edge to Shane. I do think Shaw has a stronger mental game. If they played a long race, and Shaw got out to a strong lead, Shane might go nuts and not recover. IMO. For sure, Shaw is ahead of everyone else currently living on US soil.

Interesting analysis. I think the mental game is Shaws only real weakness. He has 5% Earl in his blood. On the other hand, I put Shane up there with the the better mental games in pool.

Hope all is well
Ian
