Is SVB Avoiding Efren?

We're all just ducking each other by disputing a match non of us has any "say" in...

By the way just in case you wanna know who i like...

When ppl start saying that "In the spirit world they all play 'the SVB'..." then i'll jump ships.

DerekDisco- The guy who makes sh!t that only pool players understand

Actually.... SVB vs any of these players would be fun to watch Efren (now efren is a bit low though, but i still feel if he gives his heart and mind he could put up a show as he won the ipt not 2 long ago... but then again it was 8 ball) Vs busti (has loads of experience) Vs Ronnie Alcano (great match as its gonna be aggressive) Vs Yang ( i guess yang gives 100% and fights till the end i would love this match) Vs Dennis ( great match again) and finally i would like to see SVB play against Wu....

I guess these threads are fun for some, but bottom line is if the 20 best 10-ball players played races to 50 once a month for a year, no one would dominate. Johnnyt

I can't see either of them ducking one another. It's just a matter of negotiating the right game.

Efren plays Alcano consistently so he's not afraid of a tough game. Shane has played Pagulayan so he's not afraid of a tough game.
Efren plays Alcano rotation though.
No way does SVB play Efren Filipino-rules rotation.

IMO rotation would be the best, and fairest game for them to play eachother. efren has a big edge in one pocket, and shane has the edge in just about everything else right now. on top of that, efren's playing rotation pretty consistently in the phillipines and shane's mentioned before that he plays rotation everyday. plus its tougher than 9 or 10B so it'll take out that "it was just his day" factor a little bit. just my .02 ;)

Apples and Oranges.

I don't see any Filipinos jumping up to play $10,000 sets of Bar Table 8 Ball with Shane. Anyone in the world can try that game, the challenge has been out there for awhile now.

I dare to say that no one in America would play Efren/Alex/Dennis/Alcano rotation. Not hard to understand considering most people do not even know the rules let alone play the game here.

AFAIK there are only two Americans in the past year or so who have stepped up to play Alex or Dennis (both of whom are "above" Efren right now in 10 ball) and that is Chris Bartram and Shane. They deserve respect for that. I am a huge fan of the Filipino players, they are the best in the world IMO but that does not mean a few guys won't step up and take a shot when a legit game can be made.

I am pretty sure John Schmidt will play just about anyone a long race of 14.1 as well. Bartram has said he will play Dennis the same way as he did at the Derby 2 years ago. The action is there for them if they want it and I would bet a little something that there will be some kind of match up at the Derby this year between an American and a Filipino.

I have seen Shane practice on more than one occasion and have never seen him play rotation (the 15 ball variety which is what Joey is talking about) I doubt he even knows the rules.

I hope Dennis and SVB hook-up on TAR next year.
It'd be great.
10-ball I hope.

LOL...thats a trip because in the last two years I have never seen him play the game whether he was practicing on a big or small table. I guarantee he will not play Efren, Alex or Dennis that game.

I have to say that if Shane wrote that post it is the first one I have ever seen with proper spelling and capitalization.

i agree. you've seen the guy practice more so you'd definately have a more educated opinion than me, and i do agree w/ you that he most likely wouldn't play an efren or a ronnie in rotation, but apparently the dude's familiar w/ the game. i'm kinda curious how his rotation game is anyway...it'd definately be cool to see at some point.

Well, since you missed that post, you have perhaps not seen this either. (Somewhere in the action room, I think):

I am challenging all American's, in any game. 8-ball, 9-ball, 10-ball, 14-1, one-pocket, banks or rotation, for any amount if 10 000 $ or more, on barbox or big table.

If 10-ball I will give any American the 7-ball, and just to make it a fair game I will give up the breaks, I will play with one hand only (me left, of course) and with a wrasps'nest stucked inside my pants.

Any takers? PM me. I will be in the States for the US Open and Derby City Classic

Mahal kita

I have to admit I just made it up... Don't know if the username "Bata" even exist :o
Nicely done. I had a mental image of Efren hopping around a table in a cloud of wasps running out one handed with a big smile on his face. :D

I think I got the same picture inside my head :)

Of course, it would just have been luck if he had won :D
