Is there a wood somewhere that...

That Cocobolo cue you are talking about is one of the prettiest pieces of wood I've seen in a lot of years! You had a real nice eye when you put that one together.

Really special.

Thank you :) I'm a wood addict :thumbup:

I guess from reading all the threads from the past it would seem a lot of people wanted Hickory Burl, but can't find it.

great pics Eric

@Eric,

Sir I have always enjoyed seeing the pictures that have been posted of your completed cues, and all the post of wood and their types. I looked through the link in this thread of your photo bucket albums. I am very impressed! A great talent, and a Family Man.

Being a father myself I can't wait until my son gets old enough to learn of all the things I like, and know.

Family time is truly important and amazing.

Best Regards,

Bryan

Thank you for the kind words :) And yes, my family is my pride & joy. My son is just now getting to the age where he is taking interest in a lot of things I do, such as pool, hunting, hiking, etc. I have been very careful to not force anything on him, and encourage him to be his own person, and it's been fun watching him grow & seeing the decisions he makes. He plays soccer & is on the chess club, neither of which I know anything about. But he also likes hanging out with me, so I'm grateful.

I also looked at most of the pics and I even went back and searched some old threads from 3 or 4 years ago and I read a couple of post by Eric that made me decide that my next cue will be a Sugartree. Might be a while before I get the money saved up to purchase one but thats ok. I am going to buy one to keep not to resell but to use as a daily player.

What people don't often see is the wood under the wrap.
If it's cheap maple on a 19 0z cue with a light forearm, it's most likely
going to have a lot of weight added.
The result of that is dead-feeling cue.

Try finding a piece of Jamaican Cocus that is a cue sized. You can find it but you may have to purchase a log and good luck getting a piece large enough that isn't cracked.
