Is this an early Tim Scruggs cue?

I bought this cue used in about 1983 in a pool room in Burlington, NC. The man who sold it to me said it was made by a guy named Tim Scruggs who previously worked for Joss and had started his own company a few years earlier. I don't think he had any reason to lie to me as Tim Scruggs was not a big name at that time. The basic research I did says Tim's early cues were not marked with any sort of logo and mine is not marked. I don't plan on selling it, I'd just like to know for sure what I have if possible. I have always loved the balance and solid feel. I have 2 shafts each weighing exactly 120 grams both about 12.75mm tip. The total weight is about 20.25 ounces and is standard length. Any information would be most appreciated.

Looks more like a Tad to me......... Almost identical to this one. http://www.billardcorner.com/html/tad_kohara.html

Tad. Final answer
Wow it certainly does! Thank you very much. I'm not so much concerned about who made it I've just always wondered.
The only puzzling thing to me is that there is not a "Tad" logo on my cue. I suppose it might have warn off over time. Did he always mark his cues?

I agree with it being a Tad. Delrin buttcap too long & shaped differently than a Scruggs.

If memory serves, I paid $200 for it with both shafts. I was a college student then so it couldn't have been much more than that.

You should go to jail for stealing.....

Awesome players, I used one like it for a couple years and it was great. The only thing bad about Tad cues is that finish flaked off terribly and I had another cuemaker refinish it and it was a dandy.

Nice cue, enjoy.

The second shaft lost its tip but here's the business end. What you see is the red base that was under the leather tip.

Mr. Wampus, or may I call you Catty? I also believe it is a early Tad cue. Collars, ringwork, inserts, buttcap length and shape, birdseye, linen wrap, metal rings, etc...all Tad. My guess is maybe someone traded said cue for a Joss cue, and the former owner acquired it from Tim Scruggs. That would make sense. Maybe... Nice cue either way!
