I find this highly unlikely.... Site administrators, what gives? Are you guys trying to inflate your numbers like they did on Jimbos forum? Just kidding, I know AZ doesn't have to do that.

I am addicted to this friggin website and can't get myself to go to bed, I think I'll go out and play some pool, the only thing I'm currently addicted to more than this stupid website....

well it's 5am and I am here. I however leave my computer on so it probably shows me as logged on all the time. I suspect many people do the same.

Nope, doesn't work that way :D

The web is what is called "stateless" - meaning, a connection is not maintained between your machine and the webserver. You click a link, connection is made, data is squirted, connection closes.

All the "online" lists on forums like this indicate is which people in the last little while (whatever time period is specified) have looked at a page. (Assuming you don't have your online status hidden in your account prefs, of course.)

After your last page view, you'll stay on the "online" list for however long and then drop off.

(This is what I do for a living :D)

Thats funny you said Jimbos forum. I took at look at the IP forum the other day and I also noticed that some ridiculous amt of people were supposedly surfing the jimbo forum. It was truly a WTF moment...until logic took over and I realized they were moving on us with those "stats".

JR knows how to work the stats-just ask Sterling.

...said I wasn't coming back because of all the threads being pulled...BUT,

anyone with any brain cells left can see the numbers are being forged/lied about/manipulated on insidepoolmag.com.

visit there but don't log in; scroll down to the bottom of the forum front page; look at the names of the "active" posters and remember a few of them; hit refresh...notice anything ?

only 4 or 5 names at the top remain the same all the others changed; magic ? I think not ! unscrupulous(sp) business people do this all the time to pad their numbers and ask for more advertising dollars. illegal ? most likely, but the laws governing internet fraud are light years behind the curve.

if you have the time, refresh as many times as you like, only the true number of "real" active posters will be the same (about 4 or 5 of them). This may be the beginning of a new game. have an IP phantom poster party. get together and bet on how long it takes for the refresh button to get your name to show up as an "active" poster.

you can also try this, peeps. go to any thread on IP, notice the number of times viewed, click refresh 30 times...magic ! that thread now has 30 more views....lol. click refresh 100 times...more magic.....lol.

......why do viewers let this charade go on and on ? the jimboarmy marched from that fake site for some of the same reasons...the truth is not at that place, censorship was less than here but still existed.

and what are you referring to ? www.jimboarmy.com or the now deceased jimbo section on www.insidepoolmag.com. these are not the same, just as the BCA and the BCAplayersleague are not connected since the BCA sold out. JR/SterlingGaming/JBCB "sold out" ,as well.

I guess unkle jackie is smarter on computer stuff than I am. I would have never given the bogus numbers on IP a second thought. I tried his suggestion and only had to click refresh 5 times until my name came up on the "fake" active poster's list. If any of you are knowledgeable about some of the now deceased posters to pool forums, 8 to 10 refresh clicks will have some of these deceased posters names come up as "active".

that's just like dead people voting in democratic primaries and the main reason that the democrats are so against voter I.D. .....lol.

a lot of bogus stuff appears daily, whether on ebay or wikipedia...but the IPmag site has become totally bogus.

JMHO....(can be yours, too, if you are willing to open your eyes)

This is right now.

78 people are looking at "Ask the Cuemaker"

25 people are looking at "Internation Pool Tour"

20 people are looking at "World Championship"

22 people are looking at "Straight Pool"

Normally there are 0 people looking at IPT and World Pool, and perhaps 2 or 3 visiting the Straight Pool section...

Something wrong?

All you have to do is look at the content of the posts. That will tell you everything you need to know.

no way or time to check all of the active posters here,,,but Sarah Rousey showed that her last visit was 2 hours before....?? how long after you leave are you still "active" here ??

1900 guests right now, 48 people watching the Straight pool section, but no new posts since yesterday...

I think something is wrong with the numbers

All the 'search engines' (Google and the others) are doing their jobs by searching these websites... AZ, IP, BD and many others. If you were able to see the IP addresses of the 'guests' that are looking/searching the forums... most would be the 'search engines'.

If you think I am wrong. please correct me so I will stop passing this info out as my OPINION... thanks in advance.

Looks like if you just look at the names, they go alphabetically, until they stop going alphabetically. That's where the fake names start.
