Its On!! TAR 20: Strickland vs Van Boening at IceBreakers Billiards

I took the pics before it was disassemble so they may very well change the pocket cuts. I dont remember the pockets having a curve in them it may just be my camera. Monchiwai there is no cheating the pocket, there is just enough room to make the ball in the center.

I think we need a bump here !

And ooooeeee those pockets look tight !

Deep too ! :)

I'm sooooo gonna watch this online!!

I have a tournament on the 20th, I hope I'll make it in time to watch it when I get back home. Will there be a way to re-watch (for a small limited time of course) some segments of the matchup for free after its over for those who paid the pay per view

oh man do i know a coupla people would die to play some 5-6 handed golf on that table with the pockets as they were. ohh im quivering just thinkin about it.

oh yeah i cant wait for the stream :)

WOW, 152,000+ views !

Now if you all would buy the PPV it could be the best ever !

Starting times?

have the starting times for all three days been set yet?

Slim

Lets return to the yrs when a Pooltable was at least 5-10

Both these players have played with the regular balls on the 5-10 snooker tables. over the years So any pocket size is bigger than snooker tables. I feel there will be very little adjustment needed- there Pro's and they have been practicing. I think there will be lots of run outs too. After the break its wide open shooting. I think Pool should return to big tables !! like they say separate the men from the boys. In 1987 there were still 5-10's in the twin cities,MN. good luck to both- Shane wins. mark

If the pockets will be 4 3/8" there is still plenty of room to cheat the pocket.

If the ball goes center pocket there would be 9/16 of an inch on each side.

Flyer looks awesome...!! Maybe my favorite so far. Posterization looks great. I'll be purchasing the PPV for sure.

AND if the bandwidth is sufficient for all the connections it will be great!

The provider we use is a distributed CDN. Meaning we send the stream to them, they send it to the users and if any one server is hit hard it will distribute the load to other servers in order to maintain quality of service.

The company routinely hosts streams with thousands and thousands of viewers. All the bandwidth we need at the venue is to get the stream to them from there it's basically unlimited. We pay a set fee based on how much viewer bandwidth is used.

The type of problem you are talking about where multiple viewers can affect the quality of the stream is usually only when someone is using a pull configuration in which viewers pull the content directly from a location. All ustream and avw streams are push configuration as described above so the number watching really isn't an issue.

Earl has said for a long time that the 5x10 table will show who the best player is. Join us March 18-20 to see how it plays out.
That is a really good poster.
In my mind I've entitled it..The Warrior and the Poet....
Will hard copies be available?
Or can I print it?...with your permission, of course

Clarify starting times

JCIN,

In one of your posts the starting time is 6:00 PM Eastern, but in another it is listed as 7:00 PM. Could you please clarify? And is it the same for each day? Maybe an earlier Sunday time would be easier for us Monday thru Friday workers.

Thank you and keep up the good work.

Mike and Earl came to Charleston and bought a 5x10 Gold Crown table from Tuckers Billiard Supply and I assume that's the table they are going to play on. The table is in good shape and I played a couple of games of one pocket on it, but I didn't pay close attention to the size of the pockets. I was over whelmed by the size of the table. You wouldn't think that small amount of extra length and width would make that much difference, but believe me it does. That table is HUGE. It sat in Tuckers in the corner and the few times I was there I never saw anyone playing on it.

I've never seen a match on a 5x10 table and it should be interesting.

James

How does the heated slate affect the table playing conditions? Any additional effective squirt? HOw about some extra slide?

Just guessing that the extra slide will make it easier to pocket balls....
