After years of trying, my APA team finally won our citywide tournament and we are Vegas bound in August! At that moment when my player sunk the last 8ball to win the match, I felt all the years of frustration lifted from my shoulders.

On top of all the joys of victory, we are also sadden that one of our players cannot be with us as she is battling cancer. We would not have made it this far without her.

Just wanted to share this with all of you!!

Congratulations!!!! I'll see you there, my team is going also. We staying at Treasure Island.

Congrats!....

Sorry to hear about your sick player. Cancer isn't a fun battle.

congrats, My team and I will be out there also for the first time!! Can't wait. We are staying at the Sahara!

Congrats! Its a heck of an accomplishment. You need everything lined up right with your team, schedules, people's focus, etc, plus you have to get a couple of rolls over the tournament. We came close but one or two rolls went the other way. So unfortunately, I can relate to your previous feelings of frustration.

Its truely a team expierence :D and emotional roller coaster  to watch from the sidelines.

Congratulations Erik! I just got off the phone with one of the guys on the team you beat in the finals (he's an AzB poster too)! He was lamenting about how he just ran out of steam, after playing 5 matches yesterday! :D We're going to work together tomorrow. Have fun in Vegas, and best of luck to you and your team!

Yes it was nerve wrecking watching that final match. It was a 2-2 match and my 5 going against a 3 for the last match. He handled the 3 easily 4-0 but still nerve wrecking.

Scott,
Just out of curiosity, who is the guy you are talking about?

See you there.

I had two teams in 8 ball on seperate boards, one 1st, one 2nd.

Next weekend, nine ball.

Congrats man! I've been playing about 3yrs on APA, haven't made it yet. Crap. Some blocking game every time. Hard to get 8 assorted level players all lined up to win! We made city this time but a low player choked bad when we were 2 n 2. Sucked.

LMK if any of y'all need some team shirts for Vegas! I would like to get some exposure out there. I have a lot of team logo ideas.

Best of luck in Las Vegas and congratulations on finally ending the frustration. When I played in the APA my teams got to the finals 4 times and we got down to the last match each time, but we never made it. I finally stopped playing in the APA because of the frustration trying to meet the 23 rule and dealing with sandbaggers. Each time we lost in the finals it was because of a player(s) who had manipulated their handicap and was playing well under their skill level and that was the frustrating part when our players were playing with the right handicap and they didn't have a chance.

Again best of luck to you and your team and my prayers for the lady who's battling cancer.

We were a 9 ball away from going to the Semi's in Birmingham. We played well though, the first match which was on Saturday for us we only had to play 4 games as we absolutely blew the other team out and scored 51 in 4 games. We play 8 ball this weekend. I've enjoyed the tournament so far as I like everyone being there and us playing on the biggest stage so far in my career (I'm only a rookie).

Congrats to Eric, and all the others!!

Well, I stayed home this weekend with my son, and I let my wife carry the team in regionals, and that she did. Well, the whole team played very well, and we are deserving of the VEGAS trip. I believe we are staying at the Riviera, but hope to meet and greet you all there. I probably won't be playing since 23 rule is an issue with 2 SL6's, and my wife is now another SL4 on the team - but it looks as though it is a week of mini-tourneys and cue trading for me.

Congrats to all!!!

Michael
