are these ferrules strong enough to be used for a break cue? how are they on playing cues?

wonderful. Very hard play great shine up nice and doesn't hold chalk. All I use except real ivory

I have one on my playing cue. I break with it and haven't had any problems in the 2 years that I've used it. If I were building a shaft just for breaking. I think that I might go with something else.

I'm inclined to agree with Sliprock. You can certainly break with it, but I would not exactly produce a line of break cues using it. It was made to simulate ivory if I'm not mistaken. I highly recommend it for the purpose it was produced.

Bottom line, this is a "playing" ferrule. There are materials better suited for breaking for example Ivorine 4 and others.

IF left CAPPED, they should be fine. I had one on my breaker for two years.

I have one on a sneaky I play with. I have ivory x ferrule black pad and Everett tip. It breaks a ton
