almost 200 pieces of ivory inlayed in a random style make up this snake in

a one piece bocote butt. the eye is a 1 carat black star sapphire.

i hope it doesnt come with a rattle!! ;)
 
not bad idea

i could drill out the butt, put some of those seeds they put in maracas inside then glue in a dowel. then every time i hit a ball it would rattle.

dont get me thinking

get us some real good pics when you get the finish on it chuck,
or is it finished now, i cant tell on my screen

brett, that is just a sealer coat, it will need a few more coats of clear. and yes it is " rough ". the pieces of ivory are cut in an abstract design, the black filler epoxy between each piece is a different width. this is my version of a pablo picasso snake. if i wanted a photograph of a snake, i would have had my buddy to airbrush one on, but that's not what i was after.
