Here are few pictures of my full splice Jake Hulsey cue. Had it for a couple of years and intended on showing it off before now but never did. He built this right before his meteoric rise. The stuff that he's doing now boggles my brain.

anyway hope you like it.

Goncalo and straight grain maple front. Ivory joint (sleeved over phenolic) and Jake's ring work. It started out with an ivory ferrule but that didn't last long.

Sharp points in both directions, great wood, and a well executed unique inlay..

This is fullsplice

Wow, is all I can say. This is real fullsplice with great unique ringwork and inlays.
Congrats to that real beauty.

Can't you tell by the color of the shaft? :D

actually it's balanced great and plays pretty stiff. Exactly the way I like it. I'm not sure if this is the same taper Jake is using on his new cues but it plays fantastic.

I saw the cue a while back when I was in Dallas. Another bad s cue from Jake. Plays 100 times better than what it looks as well!

Jake is a freak!

You got that right!!! Points were 0.00000003" off :D

beautiful...

What a fresh design. As much as i love traditional cues, it gets tired after a while. Simply beautiful!

Jake Hulsey=genius at work. That cues beauty didn't happen by accident...the way the wood works it's way into the points is vision.

That section of goncalo is one fine piece of wood- if you look at the grain at the butt of the cue the grain and knotty area close to the little inlay is really beautiful.

If there were more knots and crazy swirling grain patterning in goncalo it could very well be the "next new thing" or something similar.

That one little area looks similar to some variations of California buckeye burl-which is my absolute favorite material-when used correctly -

A sneaky pete made of C.B.B. would be silly-look silly and probably impossible as its super difficult to even find good sections long enough for a forearm. As i understand it other variations of buckeye burl can be longer but the California stuff is shorter.

My uncle rick has a 92' Bill Schick that is CBB,with ivory boxes tons of abalone, ivory handle and Bill engraved roman goddess in the ivory boxes. Anyone that has attended ICCS shows has seen it.

He also has a Mottey -ivory handle-CBB forearm with 8IVORY points4long/4short trimmed in silver.
