Just got finished watching the Jasmin Vs Allision match on ESPN. Hard to believe she is only 20 years old the way she stays focused. She seems to have all parts of the game down pat. Johnnyt

agree, very impressive from all angles

She looks like she has a very strong total package, a little geared towards overaggression but a real threat to be number one if she comes over and plays regularly. On the other hand she may burn out or get distracted and disappear in a few years.

Allison definitely had an unusual look about her late in that match. I think she was at least wondering if she was looking at the start of a new wave and the end of her dominance. Jasmin has been playing since she was a toddler and has had the same personal coach who is traveling with her all this time much like prodigies in other sports.

Jasmin is twenty years old, fearless, and has sixteen or seventeen years on the table with constant coaching under her belt. That is a tough combination to beat and she should be getting better for years to come.

Saw that match myself. I was suprised how easily she went thru the ranks of some major players to get to the final with allison. it was a great match.

Man i was up all night long and i was waiting for this to come on it was suppose to come on at 1:00p.m here and i was up all night and it was about noon so i laid down thinking one more hour and i crashed out LOL don't even remember closing my eyes and i woke up a little bit ago thinking man i can't believe that up all night waiting for it and i missed it. Anyways i have a recording that showed her best finish this is a awhile ago and they show her and she looks very young and i always wanted to see her play. Guess i just have to wait until it reruns again LOL.

was there any amazing shots or anything happen in the matches that somebody could tell. Thanks.

Most amazing to me were a couple mistakes by Allison. She did not looks sharp.

Jasmin looks to have a more powerful break than some of the others but honestly do you really need it on a fast table with decent sized pockets?

I did like the way that Jasmin kept her routes and shape simple however she got a couple rolls taking those routes.

For me I am more curious to see how Pam Treadway, Melissa Herdon,
Mayuki, Ga-Young Kim, and Kelly Fischer progress.

Kelly Fischer and Kim are pretty high on the list right now and could prove to be next in line to take some airtime from some of the usuals.

Treadway seems to be the future. Jasmin as well.

The link is Mike Howerton's game by game breakdown as it happened live. It was the best performance (Jasmin's run thru the field) that I have ever witnessed or heard about. She beat 6 of the top 8 players, Shin Me Liu, Pam Treadway and Alice Rim. This was not a fluke...she is that good. Allison won't give up her crown easy, but Jasmin might be the one to do it. When she is on there is no one better in the women's game. She can hit em hard and soft with amazing skill.

I told my wife to avoid her at all costs at Peoria...lol

The announcers mentioned a couple of times that she has been playing since she was 3 years old and that she has had a coach during that entire time. He even goes with her to matches.

My question is how can she (her family) afford a personal coach? Does the government provide the coach? Is he a relative? Who is he?

I watched her play about 4 yrs ago in Georgia. There was a WPBA qualifier and some of the lady pros were there (Allison, Ewa, Jennette, Helena, etc. ) and Allison told the guy that owned the place " if this young girl from Austria shows up, she will win this qaulifier hands down." And she did. Just goes to show the respect that they already had for her. She will be a strong force in a year or so.

After seeing her at the 14.1 Straight Pool Worlds, where Jasmin played very well, better than any of the women and much better than most of the men, I have become a big fan.

It's hard to see on television, but her stroke is a thing of beauty, and really stood out to me personally among some of the World's best players.

Like watching Tiger Woods swing a golf club, her mechanics are graceful, effortless, the kind of stroke most would strive for.

I got to watch this as well and was overall impressed with the way she played. As someone else said, Allison made some uncharacteristic mistakes, but Jasmin played very well to capitlalize on almost all of them.

I wish I had recorded it. Her stroke on the last eight ball was so clean. It looked like the cue floated out of her hand, drawing the cue ball back into position for the nine.
